10 Relevant 'The Matrix' Quotes That Feel Too Real In 2020
Quotes

Though released 21 years ago, there are some The Matrix quotes that are eerily relevant in 2020.

The Matrix, released in 1999, is a science fiction action film that depicts a dystopian future where humanity is trapped inside a program called “The Matrix.” The Matrix is a simulation of reality created by machines made to distract humans while their bodies are used as an energy source until a computer programmer Thomas Anderson, also known as Neo, finds out the truth and is introduced to a rebellion group against the machines.

Many people have said recent things that have occurred make it feel like we’re living in a simulation. A big example is the Mandela Effect, a big phenomenon that started around 2009 and has questioned people’s memory about certain events and things that people swear happened differently.

People also like to use the term “glitch in the matrix” to describe things that are actually happening but seem far too strange to be real. There are many stories in this Reddit thread about people witnessing “glitches” in the real world that make them question if we’re actually just living in a simulation.

Other pieces of media have somehow predicted events that at the time seemed so ridiculous. Ranging from The Simpsons writing that Donald Trump would run for office and win and 20th Century Fox being bought by the Disney Company and many other future predicting episodes to even Star Trek predicting all the technology we would be using in our daily lives.

So how does all of this apply specifically to the year 2020?

Well, it just seems every piece of news that releases seem so ridiculous that the popular phrase is “If you told me this would happen a year or two ago I would think you were joking.”

Starting with this pandemic that has been going far too long to the Pentagon releasing footage of UFO’s in the sky (which there has been a recent update which is crazier) to even the discovery of a Murder Hornet that hold more venom than others in the Vespid family. Things just seem so extreme that if we were told this was all fake we would all collectively sigh with relief.
