I always thought the expression, "Practice what you preach" was really limiting. How could one potentially give good advice if we had to rely upon personal experience rather than common sense?
We all know what's right and what's wrong, and most of us are sensible enough to know that we don't actually need to be a saint in order to help someone with a non-saintly issue. Pep talks, for example. Nice to give them, nice to get them, but I certainly don't need to be in a radiantly awesome mood to help another out with their less than stellar situation.
A good pep talk is a life changer, and that is basically because the entire point of a pep talk is to impart hope and positivity. Now, that doesn't mean everyone is up for the task; some like to withhold their advice. Making another feel hopeful is an act of purity and not everyone groks with that kind of generosity.
While some feel it takes too much out of them to be loving and help a friend out with a few kind words of hope, others will jump at the opportunity to deliver great promise and advice for a supercool future. Which zodiac signs give the best pep talks?
1. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
If you can stand to hear a few stories of woe, trial and tribulation, then you'll be game for a Taurus pep talk. No Taurus wants to see you in pain, and they will bend over backwards to make you see hope in any situation, no matter how hard it is.
But you will have to endure war stories. "Oh, you should have seen me, I was a mess..." Sentences like this are followed by hours of listening to how Taurus survived this, or that. But it's worth it because by the time they get to the pep talk, you're already happy just to know someone wanted to spend that much time paying attention to you.
2. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis are excellent at pumping you up, but there's one condition: you have to do what they tell you to do or they reject you utterly. In other words, a Gemini will give you the pep talk of your life and they will continue on with that positive push ONLY if agree to everything they say without deviation.
This zodiac sign is strict and unbending; they have interesting ideas and some great techniques to share for bettering your life, but the kicker is that you have to do it their way. It's either that, or the highway.
3. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Oddly enough, Virgo gives good pep talks. Maybe for the sake of another they are somehow miraculously able to get themselves out of their self-indulgent hate-funk, but if Virgo happens to actually care for you, then you're set.
They will come through and they will make you feel like it's all going to be okay again... someday. Of course, the moment you're back on your feet, they will come in with some new devastating news that will ruin your day, so grab that Virgo pep talk and run, now!
4. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Count this fire sign in for pep talks. Aries is one of the strongest signs in the zodiac, and that means they are also the friendliest and most caring. Sure, they have large egos, but really, who doesn't?
Aries knows when you're not feeling good and when they see those down-turned scowls, they rush in with humor, hope and many, many distractions. They love to make people feel better and their pep talks are pure positivity.
If you're down, find yourself an Aries. They're just waiting to help pep you up.
5. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
I don't want to automatically make this a facetious Libra blog, but I have to say that Librans give great pep talks because they are skilled liars. When you lie as often as they do, you're able to craft the right words to say to someone who desperately need uplifting.
Libra is very good at making you feel better about your life, mainly because they know they're not going to get what they want out of you if you're in a bad mood. So, they uplift you, pep you up, and then they steal your life savings. See, everything works out in the long run with Libra.
6. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Because Cancers get very nervous when things get out of line, they like to put everything together, for everyone, all the time. If you are in a bad state, it's your Cancer pal that will come to your rescue with sweet words and a new look on life.
Yes, they do it because they like the gratitude you show afterwards, but it's pretty much in their nature to be helpful, and to come through for friends in their time of need. "Pep Talks R Us" is the Cancer motto.
