Do work you really love.

What Career Is Right For You, By Life Path Number Unsplash

No one wants to work for a paycheck. You want purpose and passion, pride and joy while building a career.

When you feel lost in life, or you just don’t feel like you’re of much value at your job, it's always a good idea to seek advice and answers anywhere you can find them… including numerology.

Like astrology, numerology is a way to bring a part of who you are to the surface so that you can learn more about who you are and what you want out of life.

It’s not always going to give you a perfect answer, but that’s not the job of numerology.

Knowing what your life path is is just a way to become more in tune with the complex individual that you are.

If you’re feeling like your job isn’t really much of a career at all – more of a way to earn a steady paycheck – you might want to look at your life path and see what kind of job would be better for you.

Trust me, it’s scary jumping from one career to another, especially when it’s in a completely different industry.

It’s kind of like being stranded somewhere without your phone or much direction at all.

Sure, you’ll get your bearing eventually, but it’s going to take some time for you to fully get the situation and comfortable.

When you decide that you want a new career, it’s up to you to decide how you’re going to take the next step.

Do you quit and then look for a job? Do you do some interviewing and job searching on the side while you still work your 9 to 5?

Career experts will tell you a million different things, and if you ask me, there isn’t really a right and a wrong way to switch careers.

All I know is this: if something in your life is making you unhappy, it’s probably in your best interest to leave that behind and find something that does make you happy.

Life is too short to be at a job you hate.

Trust me, I have seen more than a few people who hate their jobs but just won’t make a change. What I’ve always been interested in is the idea of the Dream Job.

You know, the job that you would drop literally everything for and probably move across the country if the opportunity was right and the timing was perfect.

And even when the timing isn’t perfect and the stars don’t quite align, we tell ourselves that we need to jump on this opportunity because it will probably never come along again, right?

But maybe the idea of a Dream Job really is just an idea. Is it worth it to take such a risk for a job that sounds good on paper?

Or even wait what might feel like a lifetime in hopes that your Dream Job will present itself to you eventually?

It’s important to always aspire to do something that you love – always. But it’s also a good idea to have realistically high expectations about your career, rather than a fairytale you know you may never achieve.

Not giving up is extremely important, but remembering that there may be more stepping stones to the perfect career than you expect is also important. Learning more about your life path is a good place to start if you’re feeling lost, or if you just need that extra motivation to go after what you already know you want.

If you ask me, it’s always a good idea to take risks if it’s for something that gets you excited. Just know that putting in the hard work is a must.

Life Path 1

As a 1, you are known for being a leader with infinite creativity, independence, and originality. Whatever career you choose in life, it will undoubtedly play into your strengths as a leader and an innovator. You tend to find the most happiness in being totally yourself and doing things that you’re passionate about.

You thrive in a work environment where you are able to work independently, lead others, or start something from the ground up. Life Path 2

Recurring themes throughout your life as a 2 – and in your career choices – are your needs to express your love, cooperation, and diplomacy in everything you do.

Life is a series of educational experiences for you, and any chance you can get to contribute your wonderful gifts with the world is a chance you’re going to take with open arms.

You feel most at home in a career setting that is group-friendly – where you can bounce ideas off other people and learn from one another. Support, cooperation, and intuition are all extremely important to you.

Look for careers helping others, like nursing education, or counseling; making a difference for the greater good, as a paralegal, lawyer, or politician; or something that falls in line with your social skills, like a bartender or waiter.

Life Path 3

As a 3, many things in life come naturally to you. The abundance of gifts that you have make it easy to find a career that you’re passionate about – you just have to trust that the career you ultimately choose is worth the hard work.

Your purpose in life is to share your sensitivity, inspiration, and joy with others and, of course, to translate those skills into a career.

Look for a career that plays into your strengths in communication and artistic expression. Lean toward music, art, or writing; advertising, broadcasting, or journalism; or a career where you can interact with people, like psychology or sociology.

Life Path 4

As a 4, you are naturally drawn to organization, discipline, and hard work – both in your personal and professional life. No matter what career you choose, security and stability will be your number one goal.

Your second goal? Finding a career that you can see yourself succeeding at for years – your loyalty and dependability extend far beyond your relationships.

Look for careers that connect your passions and needs. You will want to find something that has a set routine and a secure future that you can look forward to, like a financial planner, project manager, or accountant.

Spreading your knowledge is also highly important to you, which can make you a great teacher, engineer, or industry expert.

Life Path 5

As a 5, you are known for being fearless, adventurous, and free. Whatever career path you choose for yourself needs to be as exciting as you are and have the ability to keep you engaged at all times.

Does such a career exist? Yes, but only if you put in the hard work to make it happen.

Look for careers that can bring flexibility and fun to your professional life. You will succeed in careers that give you a chance to work with people from all walks of life and cultures, like hospitality, travel, or sales.

Additionally, public relations and marketing give you a chance to do a little bit of everything without feeling bored or expendable – a few of the main reasons you “job hop” in the first place.

Life Path 6

As a 6, your purpose in life is to nurture, serve others, and be responsible. You’re a “big picture” kind of person – you don’t like to micromanage, and you certainly don’t appreciate being told what to do.

If you could have your dream job, it would be one where you can be your own boss and call the shots.

That said, you love helping others and are one of the most compassionate of all the life paths. Home and family are very important to you, and careers like counseling, nursing, hospitality, and social work all allow you to bring those values to your work.

Creative career paths like graphic design, fashion, and interior decorating may also pique your interest.

Life Path 7

As a 7, intellect, balance, intuition, and analysis all drive you in your career.

While there are times when you find yourself getting caught up in your head and over-analyzing things, you have an innate ability to be a very sensitive and emotional person when you have a chance to connect with others.

Self-exploration is vastly important to you – if you can find a career that helps you connect with others and find yourself in the process, you’ll be happy.

Look for career paths like psychology, social work, research, or even astrology and numerology to give you an outlet to assist others and do a deep dive into your own self.
