getty Every time I go over to my best friend's house, I find myself sitting on the couch with her, remote in hand, watching TV. Invariably, she will get stuck on something and not be able to find the channel or program she wants, and when that happens, she starts to bellow for her husband.
He's the one she can rely on to fix everything, including her lack of desire to learn it on her own. In comes hubby who presses the right buttons, and before we all know it, we're watching what we want to watch. Married couples tend to grow into a sort of co-dependent state, where it's almost impossible to think of pure self-sufficiency.
Conversely, those of us who are insanely self-sufficient and won't even try to accept help from others. We are the ones who drive, carry all the bags, use our key to open the door while balancing the bags, and should someone even offer to help, we reject them.
The rest of us are zodiac signs who rely heavily on others, though some of us basically shirk all responsibility and rely entirely on the help and support of others, no matter how small the task is. And that's where astrology comes in.
1. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Nobody relies on others as much as Virgo, and in a way, when they come to you for whatever, you'll be happy to give. And why? Why, when in the face of this sign's snooty attitude, would you want to be relied upon? Because, for some reason, Virgo tends to be very, very loving to those who support them.
Odd to think the sign of perfectionism would even desire aid from another, but Virgo's need for the perfect thankfully doesn't require you to be perfect as well.
2. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo wants your attention, and because they thrive so heavily on it, they need you to be there. There is no show without an audience, and you are the audience.
Leo relies on you to do the legwork; they won't ask you for money, or to change the channel; they'll ask you to show up, to be there for them and to assure them that everything will be okay. Your job as relied upon helper to a Leo is mainly for emotional support.
3. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn's greatest wish is to get the job done, over and successfully executed, so all they really want and need is teamwork. Capricorn moves in teams, and so they rely heavily on the work a group of folks do together to serve the interest of the Capricorn who, by the way, is always the boss... in any situation.
As boss, you need others to bolster your position, so this sign will take advantage of every player involved to get the job done.
4. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer doesn't just rely on others, they believe that they are "incorporating" others and giving them the opportunity to serve. Cancers are friendly people; they want everyone in their business, and it's in their nature to ask for help, without hesitation.
Cancer doesn't believe they are taking advantage of you, they believe they are engaging you in a new and wonderful experience, and they believe you not only will assist but you'll want to with all of your heart.
5. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Though Taurus is a strong-minded, fierce sign that brings up independent thinkers and great imaginations, this is also a very vulnerable sign, emotionally. They need approval and assistance in just about everything they do.
They have no qualms about asking for help, and though they'd prefer to do it themselves, they tend to second guess themselves and end up asking for advice, suggestions and a new way of doing things. They rely heavily on family for trusted advice.
6. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
They'd rather be alone and left to their own devices, but most Aquarians are fearful of being alone, so they defer just about everything to whoever will stick around for them. Aquarians rely heavily on those who can get them free things, invites, and so on.
The real problem here is that Aquarius lacks gratitude; they take from their friends and they never say thank you. They rely on others, and they resent every minute of it. They detest dependency, yet they are the most dependent sign of them all.
