July might have been a tough month for most of us (what, with the retrogrades and all!), but here's the reward we all have been finally waiting for: A new moon in Leo, an the energetic and romantic zodiac sign of Leo.
But it's not just about any new moon; it's a full-fledged black moon (the second new moon in the one month). Cue dramatic music.
If you are planning to upgrade your love life, now is the time to do so with the fervent passion of a new moon in Leo. To help you, here are 5 new moon rituals you can do on July 31st to manifest a once-in-a-lifetime kind of romance, all thanks to astrology.
Just remember: new moon manifestations work only when you do it after the new moon phase begins. And that's 11:11 PM EDT for you.
1. Create a vision board of love.
Want your soulmate to waltz into your life and sweep you off your feet? Well, you need to know who your soulmate is first, and a vision board is the perfect tool for aligning yourself with that vision.
You will need a bunch of magazines you don't mind cutting pictures from, a glue stick, scissors (obviously), a large rectangle of cardboard, markers, and craft supplies of your choice.
Step 1: Sit down with your collection of magazines and scissors, then close your eyes and breathe in deeply three times. Make them full belly breaths and focus on the phrase "the love of my life" or "my one, true soulmate" while breathing.
Once done, flip through the magazine and cut out pictures that call out to you (catch your eyes instantaneously). Don't overthink, just go snippety snip. You may not understand why you are attracted to certain pictures, but when you meet the one in the future, it will all make perfect sense.
Step 2: Grab the cardboard and cover it with some craft paper. It can be colored sheets, glitter paper, or anything that really puts you in a warm and fuzzy mood. Then write out "my one, true soulmate" or "the love of my life" (whichever phrase you focused on while breathing earlier) on the top of the cardboard.
Step 3: Paste your magazine snaps onto the vision board and decorate it however you please. You can add love quotes, lines from your favorite love song, doodles, and just about anything under the sun.
Once you make your vision board, keep it in a place you can see every day. The images are meant to trigger those warm fuzzies whenever you take a peek. And that emotion will ultimately bring your true love to you.
Just remember: the universe works at its own sweet time. So don't get impatient if you don't meet your soulmate within the next six months. That would be like placing a big order at a restaurant and walking out after five minutes because they didn't serve you your meal.
2. Write a happy birthday letter to your future love.
This is a journalling ritual with a twist. In this, you will be writing a happy birthday letter to your future love as if you have been with them for three years already. Confused? Here's a sample:
Happy Birthday, dearest XX! The last three years with you have been the most amazing years of my life. And I feel blessed whenever I see your sweet, kind, handsome face smiling at me with so much love in your eyes...
The point of this ritual is to write why you love this person so much and what makes them so special (characteristics, personality quirks, interests, and more). You can even write how they make everyday life so much more special for you by inventing stories.
Do they bring you flowers from time to time? Do they share the household chores? Do they come up with the best vacation ideas? Anything goes as long as it's something you want in a romantic relationship.
Just make sure you are being realistic when you write this letter. No lines like, "I love that you are a billionaire with 25 cars in your garage." Superficial wishes of this kind are less about love and more about materialistic desires. And you want true love, don't you?
Once you finish writing the letter, read it out loud. Feel the emotions as you do this because that triggers the magic. You can read the letter once a week after that or as often as you like.
3. Brighten up your space with yellow flowers.
Yellow is a Leo color. So add a touch of romance to your living space (or work table) by placing a bunch of yellow flowers on it. Roses, dahlias, gerberas — anything goes. You can even get a bouquet with an abundance of warm colors.
4. Dine like a queen.
Leo is a royal sign, so make sure to celebrate the black moon by dining like a queen with your favorite people in the world. Make the meal merry and a boisterous affair. And eat like an Empress for a day.
5. Go on a speed dating event.
Well, you don't necessarily have to do it on July 31st (because it's a weekday); the weekend works too. The point of this new moon ritual is to get you in the right frame of mind for inviting new romance into your life.
