Eclipses bring unexpected twists and turns in our horoscopes. An eclipse always takes place in what's called the "Nodes of Fate".

There are two nodes: south and north.

The South Node of Fate relates to your past life. The North Node of Fate is about your destiny. As life would have it, fate isn't a simple process.

In astrology, zodiac signs are born with freewill, but that doesn't mean that the stars won't nudge you to head in the right direction, or shake things up a bit to help you find your spiritual path.

Each eclipse comes when the Sun and the Moon are on the galatic plane and there's a polarity about to be explored.

This one way that the universe tries to tell us something or bring our attention to a part of our life that needs change.

Eclipses want us to change for the better and make new life experiences that may be unexpected. They throw us a few wild cards out into the universe.

Every year, eclipses come and go in different numbers and sign variations. This means eclipses will impact zodiac signs differently, with varying degrees of intensity.

With usually four eclipses a year, they bring uncertainity and change into our daily routines. If there are more than four a year, our lives can be thrown out of wack drastically.

Eclipses always arrive in pairs – they coincide with the new and full moons. The families of the eclipse each hold varying signs on their axis – usually signs of very opposite parying.

The 6 Eclipse pairs are:

  1. Aries  - Libra
  2. Taurus - Scorpio
  3. Gemini - Sagittarius
  4. Cancer - Capricorn
  5. Leo - Aquarius
  6. Virgo - Pisces

A Capricorn Solar eclipse took place in January. Now, 6 months later there is a Cancer solar eclipse. In another 6 months the cycle for Capricorn will complete with an during Capricorn season. In July of 2020, the Cancer eclipse season will complete for the Crab.

The North Node entered the sign of Cancer in 2018 and will end in 2020.

This is why each eclipse lasts anywhere from 6 months to a year for the zodiac sign whose sign it is in. When a partial solar or lunar eclipse takes place, those energies can last anywhere from 3 to 6 months, too.

Each sign will hold a degree on the axis: the stronger the degree, the higher the intensity. A family of signs always occurs in pairs and reoccurs every 20 months or so, until they make their final trnsformation.

If the eclipse touches one of the planets and that planet corresponds with your degree on the natal chart, you will feel the eclipse in a stronger and more personal way.

Luckily, once your sign has been introduced to a family and goes through the eclipse, it usually will not reappear for another few years.

It just so happens that we are entering an eclipse season – so, what does that mean for the world of astrology?

Something will end and bring with it something new. An eclipse symbolizes new beginnings – whether we want them or not. An eclipse gives us new perspectives in life and never allows us to go back on our old ways.

Once you go through an eclipse, you never turn back. While eclipses can seem scary in the world of zodiac, try to think of them as a way to stop dwelling on the past and move forward on your journey in life.

How will the eclipse impact each zodiac sign? It all depends on if the eclipse favors your sign and happens to be in the same element.

For example, if you are an Aquarius (air sign) and there is an eclipse within Gemini (also an air sign), the year will bring about positive change for you.

In order to truly calculate how close your zodiac sign appears within the eclipse, you must look at all the planets involved within the season.

How close do they fall to your birth date? Math is the key here to see just how positively correlated the degree of your zodiac sign falls within the eclipse.
