However you fall on that opinion, the fact is that for most people marriage is one of the biggest decisions they make in their life, and why shouldn’t it be?

The decision to get married involves lots of moving parts that hold emotional, financial and even spiritual meaning.

A person has to decide whether or not marriage is the right thing to do in the first place. Are you both financially prepared to blend homes and be each other's one and only person for life.

How to propose is the fun part as is whether or not to accept the offer of marriage. A wedding ring, like an engagement ring carries a lot of meaning, as does the finger it is put on.

The engagement ring that is often worn below the wedding ring once you say I do, used to indicate the wealth of the husband who married his bride.

Some cultures wear a ring on the right hand and others on the left. Old Irish tradition is to wear a single ring with a heart held between two hands that turn to face the wearer when taken, and outwardly when available for courting.

Today, how much money to spend on a ring that everyone will notice once it's place on your right ring finger is still a bid deal.

Some women want the three month's salary route because - tradition, while others decide they want to be modern and go without or wear a silicon one to show attachment without putting debt into the mix.

You’re pretty much deciding the person you’ll have to sleep with for the next 30-60 years. Does he/she snore a lot? Does he/she sleepwalk? Does he/she fart a lot?

In any case what a bonding of two people means different things based on the values both individuals have so when one person decides NOT to wear their wedding ring, or worse, have it on for years then take it off, the symbol itself has meaning.

The ring a sign of trust, a circle of love that is left unbroken, and for people who are more on the religious side of things, it's just a scratching on the surface on a union that is spiritually blessed by the universe above.

If both partners are very religious, they may view their soulmate connection as ordained by God and a soul tie made between two partners.

Some faiths also see marriage, and this meaning also comes with wearing a wedding band, as asking God for the privilege of procreating kids. This may not be the case for all faiths, as each religion is a little different.

There are people who are irreligious that still see value in marriage but there are also others that tend to see it as more of just a tradition.

There are some people who will be upset if they lose the wedding ring and guard it with their life.

While others might take off the wedding band if they’re at a bar and it’s convenient for them.

There are also people who believe that the engagement ring should be equal to 3 months salary. There’s also some don't care if it's a rubber band that supports the environment. Generally, these rubber bands cost a lot less and generally help people to save a lot of money.

There’s also the trade-off which is “you have a rubber band on your finger, not a diamond ring”. Let’s face it choosing the right ring and what it can mean to you is stressful and difficult.

Thankfully zodiac signs give us a road into where we may most likely be interested in. These are what a wedding band may mean to you based on zodiac sign.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)

Aries do tend to love independence and being an individualist, so they may see a wedding ring as a sacred trust and wearing it can feel like a curse without respect for one another throughout the marriage.

This makes it more difficult to coincide in a marriage. Giving yourself the freedom to be away from your partner every once in a while will keep you from insanity.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)

Taurus loves the journey through romance and thrills, to wearing a ring means having a life long partner to share life with forever. Every single up/down in a relationship impacts them more. Marriage is no exception, they love it and it is a memory they’ll keep forever.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

Geminis hate being alone, so wearing a ring means having found a soulmate. Although they may not see any spiritual value in marriage they definitely see the effects it can have on their happiness. Marriage for them is a way to never be lonely again.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Cancer love to help and connect with family, so their ring is a sign of sacred trust and tying history and hearts together as one. Family is at the forefront of what’s important in their life. LEO (July 23 - August 22)

Leos hate not being treated like a king or queen, so they may want a flashy ring and not mind if it's worn or not, depending on the occasion. At home,  a Leo may take the ring off, but when they are out on the town, they want validation from people. Marriage is that opportunity for them. You’ll hopefully have someone always by your side saying how amazing you are.

VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

Virgo's biggest strength is loyalty so a ring is all about the promise behind it. They value people who are loyal just as back. So marriage is seen as a way to create more loyalty to the person that you love the most.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)

Libras tend to avoid conflict and aim to create harmony in their world, so they may choose not to wear a ring at all. If they do, and it gets lost the heart break enough will give them a reason not to replace it. They might even go with a tattoo ring instead.

What better way to portray that harmony in a partner than to get married. Sadly sometimes this can lead someone to marry the wrong person just because they cared more about what other people thought than themselves.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)

Scorpios love having longtime friends so marriage is a way of cementing one of those friendships, and wearing a ring may be a choice to make each day. For Scorpios having a small number of meaningful relationships means the most to him/her and marriage is just an extension of that thinking.

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)

Capricorns tend to value family just like Cancers, so wearing a ring is a must and it will likely be a status symbol as well as a religious symbol. Family is the foundation of their happiness so to make that happen you want to get married. Marriage is the key to building the family.

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)

Aquarius loves to fight for causes and one of your causes could be to help the environment, so wear one or not, they will decide and leave their partner to choose for themselves, too. Rubber bands tend to be cheaper and better for the environment. If you meet someone who shares those beliefs decide to get yourself a rubber band instead of the traditional one.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)

Pisces prefer to be alone so marriage may not at first seem like a need for them. They just love that they have a soulmate for life and wearing a ring may not be what they are after. They want the feels that go with a soulmate connection instead.

Pisces do tend to love company but they ultimately need time away from even their partner to be happy. Therefore a wedding band may not mean a whole lot to them.
