Time to make spring break plans!

Even though it is still very much wintertime, I am ready for spring break in more ways than one. Not only am I ready for some sunshine and warm weather – I mean, who isn’t after that nasty Polar Vortex, amirite? – but I can’t wait for some serious relaxation time, too.
Look, the groundhog said we’re going to have an early spring this year, so at this point, I’m just tapping my foot waiting for the weather to change.
Plus, I – like everyone else – have plans for spring break, so I want this next month to fly by.

One of the best things about spring break is that you can plan pretty much anything and it’s acceptable. As long as you take a few days off work, school, responsibilities, whatever, you’re celebrating spring break the right way.
Beyond that, you can go skiing in the mountains, on an island cruise in the Caribbean, have a staycation with your best friends, or go on a missionary trip to bring some good to people in need.
One of my favorite things about spring break has always been making plans with my best friends.

Whether we actually go somewhere, or we just kick it at home, we always make sure that we have enough things to do, eat, and drink to keep us happy and having fun. This year, though, I’m doing something different.
I am going to do my first polar plunge into the Atlantic Ocean, along with a bunch of other crazy people, which is why I need this weather to start warming up before I chicken out. Maybe I am crazy, or maybe I just need to do something exciting in the name of spring break, but I am looking forward to it.
But just because you’re looking forward to spring break doesn’t mean you’re not sure what you want to do yet. You might have a few ideas, sure, but it’s getting close to that time when you need to start booking hotels and thinking about transportation – are you ready?
Astrology may hold all the answers for you if you’re feeling stuck. Here’s where to go for spring break, based on your zodiac sign.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
As one of the most adventurous horoscope signs, Aries, you should definitely go somewhere exciting and full of adventure for spring break. You certainly don’t have to travel far from home, but wherever you go should have a lot for you and your BFFs to do.
Book a vacation where you can zip-line in the rainforest, hike through a national park, or swim in crazy huge waterfalls. Oh, and if you do happen to travel outside of the country, now is your chance to get adventurous and try new cuisines, too!
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
You’ve been working really hard to save up enough money for a memorable spring break, Taurus, and now is your time to find the perfect locale to enjoy a few days off. Since you’re so frugal with money, why not treat yourself to a lavish, decadent getaway?
Find a quiet, beautiful beach or all-inclusive resort with plenty of food choices and amazing shopping nearby. All you want to do is lay in a hammock, drinking margaritas in the sunshine this year… and spending your hard-earned cash on treating yourself, too.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
You have a tendency to get restless if your spring break isn’t packed to the gills with fun things to do, so this year, grab all of your BFFs and plan something that is full of so many activities and changes of scenery that you never get bored.
Backpacking in Europe, a cruise or island-hopping trip, or even a tour of a new city you’ve never visited before are all great ideas for the energetic and fun Gemini. You’ll have just enough time in each place to try new food, take some pictures for Instagram, and shop before you’re on to the next place.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Since you’re known to be a homebody, Cancer – preferring to put down your roots instead of living out of a suitcase – your best bet for spring break is to gather up your nearest and dearest friends and rent a house for a few days.
Rather than having to stay in a loud hotel and buy every meal, you can have your own room and be able to have a home-cooked meal surrounded by your favorite people every night. Choose a destination that’s meaningful to you or go somewhere you can turn into an annual tradition.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
You have been thinking about (and planning) your spring break trip ever since last spring break ended, Leo. This year, you want to go somewhere that is as exciting, fun, and crazy as you are – all with your besties by your side, of course.
You and your friends should head somewhere the party won’t stop all week. A popular beach resort or party city is your best bet. You can show off your brand-new spring wardrobe and take as many pictures as your phone will allow. Time to get crazy!
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
We might not always say it, but we appreciate you, Virgo. You are the most organized and detail-oriented zodiac sign there is which means no matter where you decide to go for spring break, everything will be planned to perfection.
Don’t be afraid to go all out this year. You have the stamina to get everything planned in time, so dream big! A European city or a hot, sandy beach in South America is one thing, but don’t forget to include all the day trips and tours your schedule can handle, too.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
All you want this year, Libra, is a spring break vacation that is beautiful and chill. The only thing you’re planning is to take a lot of pictures for your Instagram account and do a heck of a lot of relaxing.
To do that, you should go to a secluded beach resort or rent a quiet villa in one of your favorite European cities. Decadent foods, a spa and gym on site, and enough alcoholic drinks in coconuts will soothe your soul and help you relax before going back to your regularly scheduled life.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Your naturally intense nature can be two-fold this spring break, Scorpio. While you’ll definitely want to head somewhere for ultimate relaxation and unwinding, you can also go somewhere where you can redirect your intense energy into something fun.
Take your best friend (just one… or maybe two) on a trip to a city that’s known for having a lot of fun things to do. Wine-tasting tours, dance classes, bike tours through the city – it’s all a great way to have fun and do some good for yourself in the process.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
You are truly the zodiac sign of adventure, Sagittarius, so if you’re not already excited about spring break, you better start getting excited! You are an independent person by nature so the best plan for you would be a road trip where you don’t have to stay in one place for too long.
Grab your friends and schedule a road trip to watch some of your favorite bands play live across the country or to see some of the very best international sites. The best thing about road trips is that they can be pretty laid back so you won’t have to put too much effort into planning this one.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
You may work hard, Capricorn, but you play pretty hard, too. What does that mean for your spring break trip this year? It means you won’t be satisfied just going to a resort and not doing anything while you’re there. You need a plan and a set itinerary to have fun.
You’re down to go just about anywhere, so think about what you’d like to do to narrow down your choices. You could take a cooking class and learn how to make a new cuisine, sign up for all-inclusive tours that include food, drinks, and sightseeing, or learn how to surf!
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
You’re a zodiac sign who likes what they like, Aquarius. That means that you’re most likely to pick a spring break destination and make that your place to go every year. There’s nothing wrong with that! You love it because you know you’ll never be disappointed when you’re there.
Another thing you can consider is doing spring break with a purpose. That means planning a trip somewhere you can do some volunteer or missionary work at the same time. I know, you’ll still be working, but it’ll make your trip feel satisfying and fun.
