6 Zodiac Signs In Astrology That Hate Being Alone

By Isadora Baum

Sure, most people don't like spending too much time alone. I mean, it gets boring, so it's understandable.

Yet there are a few signs that really, really hate it. There's that need to have attention, people around them, or simply someone to talk to, and when they're stuck in silence, with no one to hang out with, it can feel like every minute is lasting a year.

If you're not sure if your "I hate being alone" tendency is average or to the extreme, the stars can give you a little tip-off. We spoke with an expert who shed some light on which zodiac signs can't stand solo time. Are you one of them?

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

Aries may be super independent, but they can't tolerate being alone for long because they desire recognition and appreciation from others, explains Joshua MacGuire, an astrological life coach in Los Angeles to POPSUGAR. "It would help Aries to give themselves the unconditional love and appreciation they desire, so that when others enter the picture, they enhance their already fulfilled experience," he explains, and they won't feel such an urgency when they're running solo.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

Taurus has karma around "need" where they tend to either be needy or need to be needed, he explains. "This helps feed their sense of self-worth," he says. "It would help Taurus to deeply understand that their inherent worthiness isn't based on what they can do or what they can provide to others," he suggests. This way, they'll feel more in check and secure when by themselves without that outside influence.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

The sign of the twins wants their "twin" along for the ride. "They're nearly obsessed with communication, having lots of ideas they want to share and bounce off others, and they want to learn from others, too," he says. The best move is to turn to their other personality for a buddy when alone. "Gemini can assuage their dislike of being alone by embracing their opposite sides, as opposed to trying to find their 'twin' in others," he says.

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

Cancer is the nurturer of the zodiac, and they have a surplus of emotional energy, so they prefer being with others, where they can take care of them and be taken care of, too. "If Cancer could direct their caring nature to themselves and not project it onto others, their need for others wouldn't be so strong," he says. "Also, Cancer could express their emotional energy across innumerable channels — their career, their hobbies, health, etc. as opposed to channel them into someone else. In doing this, they won't feel they're not expressing themselves when alone,' he adds.

Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)

Balance is partnership to Libra. They simply feel better focusing their attention on the other person in their life than on themselves, so if that person is missing, they feel a bit antsy. "If Libra could confront their fears of being alone, they would be able to find relations that enhance the already secure relationship they have with themselves," he says.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)

"Scorpio is a very carnal sign, keenly aware of their animalistic instincts. They rule intimacy and sex, and fuse with others in order to transform," he explains. Since that human connection is so important, it's hard for Scorpio to be by themselves. "If Scorpio could realize that they have the power within themselves to transform independent of others, they would be less afraid of being alone," he says.
