Unsplash It's hard to know everything about a person unless you take the time to do so. There are a lot of articles explaining things related to astrology and zodiac signs but sometimes people just wish you knew certain things. It just makes life easier for everyone involved.
If I could wish for people to know just one thing about me, it would be that I'm not quiet because I'm shy but because I'm contemplative. I like silence and listening because I feel like I learn more about a person when I listen, not when I talk.
I've also never been the chatty type too, so I can say whatever I want about why I'm quiet and no one will ever know the truth because I'm so mysterious about it (only kidding).

But if we're dating and I'm quiet, it's just because I feel like we can have a comfortable silence between us and it not be weird. I might even be thinking about how nice it is to be with this person I like so much.
I like being in a relationship where everything seems to come easy – including comfortable silence – and I don't have to worry that I'm not talkative enough for the other person. I've been in a relationship where my boyfriend, his friends, AND his family were always asking me if I was okay because I wasn't talking.

Yes, I'm fine, but thank you for making me feel weird about it. In that situation, I wish he knew that being quiet meant I was comfortable. We all have situations like this. Whether you're in a new relationship or an old one, you hope that the person you're with will just get you.
But without telling them absolutely everything about yourself, that's not always possible. It's especially impossible when you're first getting to know each other. Whether we like it or not, we all have some preconceived notions about the new people we're dating.
These can be in the form of rumors or just what we've noticed about them, but assuming you know what a person is like before you get to know them isn't a good thing. Maybe you've only ever heard about his harsh side, but in reality, he's just an intense personality who takes dating seriously.
Or maybe he's always goofing around and you're not sure he's ever been serious about anything in his life. In reality, he might be a really deep guy who only shares that profound side with people he knows will respect him for it.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
People get so caught up in calling Aries out for his competitiveness and fierce personality that they forget that there's something else underneath all of that fire. Rather than seeing him as just what is on the surface (or what people assume is on the surface), really get to know him.
Whether he intentionally hides it or not, Aries has one of the biggest hearts of all the zodiac signs. He can be incredibly sensitive and feeling because, deep down, all he really wants in life is to love and be loved. It's only once you get to know him better that you see this side of him.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus tends to get branded as the stubborn bull of the zodiac. He can definitely be hard to argue with at times, but while he's tough on the outside, he's nothing but a big ol' softie on the inside. Taurus would like nothing more than to show off this side of him, but he knows when to share it.
Taurus definitely sticks to his convictions, which is often the reason why he can be so stubborn and hard to sway. But just because he's also a big softie doesn't mean he's a pushover deep down. It really means that, given the chance, he'll always choose love and kindness first.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini is often considered shallow because he's always bouncing from one person to the next, changing his mind, and generally refusing to commit to one idea or way of thinking. But just because he seems shallow doesn't mean he is at all – and he wishes you knew the truth.
Gemini will always bend over backward for his friends. If it seems like he's all over the place, it's because he's going above and beyond to please everyone – which makes him an above-and-beyond BFF. It may be hard some, but he's dedicated to always making everyone happy.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
No one gets more annoyed about hearing how Cancer always lets his mood get the better of him than Cancer is. But what people don't know is that Cancer is a lot stronger than people make him out to be. Just because he gets emotional doesn't mean he's not in control.
Cancer knows how to use his emotions for good, not to bring him down. He might get sad or frustrated, but he lets himself feel those emotions before trying again. For this, he's incredibly smart and strong. He faces his bad days head-on, rather than let himself ever get overwhelmed.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've all heard it before. Leo is superficial and only cares about himself, right? Wrong. Leo is absolutely nothing like what you think he is. And if that's what you think of him, then you have no idea who is really is – one of the best friends you'll ever have.
Leo is one of the most helpful and generous people you will ever meet. He goes the great lengths to make sure that he's always there for you, even if that means putting himself aside at times. And so what if he likes a little bit of praise afterward? Everyone likes to feel appreciated, right?
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo often gets put in the category of analytical, way too serious, in the zone kind of person. So much so that people often shrug him off because they think he's too focused on himself to think about anyone else. In fact, Virgo is probably one of the most caring zodiac signs there is.
Virgo deeply cares about the people in his life. Sure, he might take a more logical, analytical approach to how he shows he loves you, but that doesn't make him care any less. He has a vision for his own success and everyone else's, so expect him to always support you no matter what.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra is on a constant mission for balance and beauty in life. In fact, this mission is so near and dear to him that he can sometimes seem a little flaky – when he doesn't get what he wants, he moves on to the next thing. But this is just what you see on the surface, not what's really there.
Libra is very thoughtful and intentional. While it might be hard for him to commit to something or someone, it's not because he's scared or shallow. It's because he wants to make the best decision, and will always take that extra time to make sure he's doing the right thing. Always.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpio is often considered the harsh, unfeeling monster of the zodiac. Why? Because people are too scared to get to know the real him, which turns into an ugly cycle of him hiding his true self for protection, which turns into people writing him off as scary.
In reality, Scorpio is one of the most romantic and deliberate people you'll ever meet. He wants to live every moment with rose-colored glasses on, and he realizes that life is way too short to be anything less than hardcore and passionate. He's intense but in the best way possible.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
When you first meet Sagittarius, you meet the fun-loving, happy-go-lucky guy everyone loves. But deep down, Sagittarius is... well, deep. But how come you don't see that right away? Because he wants to know that when he reveals his real personality, you'll accept him for who he is.
Sagittarius doesn't like showing people who he really is inside because they often ask him why he's acting weird. Really, though, he's very profound and reserved. He has big dreams and deep thoughts, but he wants to know that when he shares these things, you respect him completely.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn is one of those ultra-focused zodiac signs that always has his eye on success. For that reason, people tend to let him do his own thing without really caring to get to know the real him because they think he doesn't care either.
What he wishes you knew is that he has a very soft side to him – he just reserves that side for people he trusts. He puts up a protective shield around himself for fear of getting hurt, but inside, he's hopeful, soft, and optimistic. You just have to be patient to see that side of him.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius isn't the emotionally-distant weirdo that everyone likes to call him. In reality, Aquarius is just the kind of person who does his best work when he's alone. He absolutely loves having a tightknit friend group and close relationships, but he needs his alone time, too.
If you really get to know Aquarius, you'll realize that he's incredibly independent and reflective. He thrives on being alone because it's his way of working through problems and learning more about himself in the process. He will always come back to you, but he needs his freedom first.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces often gets those eye rolls that come after he shows his emotions. People think that in order to be strong, you need to hide your true emotions and feelings and push through them in spite of what you're feeling. For Pisces, it's the complete opposite.
People don't give him enough credit for this, but Pisces is one of the strongest and relentless zodiac signs out there. He is strong because of his emotions, not in spite of them. And as for being relentless? A few tears or failures never slow him down. He can push through anything.
