These signs don't fall easily.

Everyone wants to fall in love. Right? Hmm, come to think of it, while most of us do want to fall in love and stay in love, many of us are also terrified of the idea — and probably for good reasons too.
Love is a terrifying place; all that promise, all that clear and present danger — as in vulnerability, the decision to trust. If one is to fully experience the depth of love in its earliest phase, then one has to trust, and trust is truly a hard thing for experienced people to take stock in. Even your horoscope can't give you the tools you need to trust.
I remember when people used to say that you could only attract untrustworthy people if you yourself are untrustworthy. And you know, that might very well be a truth. But damn, it doesn’t make it any easier to put one’s faith in something they detect might be unstable.
Plain and simple, it’s hard to trust, and therefore, it’s hard to let one’s self totally go when that feeling of "being in love" comes round.
So, while falling in love is very much part and parcel of who we are as human beings, we are innately fearful of losing ourselves to another. Some toss their fears aside and end up learning the hard way, through heartbreak or betrayal, and some gradually allow love to penetrate their shield, slowly but surely giving themselves over to one of the best experiences a human being can ever, ever have.
According to astrology, there are a few of us out there who tend to back off a bit when it comes to love and infatuation. Perhaps hesitance in love is a survival mechanism; after all, nobody wants a broken heart. So, who are the zodiac signs who don't fall in love easily and have shown the most resistance to falling in love?
1. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer has a true need for independence and though they may not always go about the way they communicate their need for that independence in an obvious manner, they will always place themselves first when it comes to relating on a romantic scale. And that’s a good thing as they are in touch with their self-esteem.
Falling in love is a sweet, romantic notion to Cancer, but it’s nothing they really need, and they will fight for the right to avoid heartbreak and attachment.
2. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
These folks love the idea of love, but not being in love themselves. It’s admirable in others, and can even be inspiring to the Aquarian, in terms of fantasy and romance. But in reality, they are more into the fantasy of love than the real-life situation. They fall "in love" with movie stars, while they keep their real-life love affairs somewhat cooler and more practical.
3. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo has a way of building a person all the way up, only to shoot them down when they slightly waver. Virgo wants to fall in love, but they get in their own way and they know it. Their natural lack of trust in you is tell-tale, however, as they themselves may not be all too trustworthy.
Virgo has a secret — no one knows it. But whatever it is, it will get in the way of any kind of decent infatuation that Virgo has with anybody. In a way, they love love, but they also love to destroy it.
4. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
I would be remiss to say that Capricorn shuns being in love; they love to be in love, but they have a tendency to throw so much doubt on their partner that it becomes a bit of a competition just to get their attention. Capricorn is an idealist and should they fall in love with their ideal, they will come to know the reality of their ideal which will fall short of their expectations.
Rather than hassle out the disappointment of expectations gone unmet, they just avoid the whole nasty “falling in love” thing altogether, making them one of the zodiac signs who don't fall in love easily.
5. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
This is where the ever-distracted Gemini comes with a built-in self-protection device; they love the idea of falling in love, but when they sense the pain of the detachment, they hurt so much that they go numb. So, Gemini removes themselves from the scene, mentally and emotionally, in order to survive.
Gemini knows love is super-great and that being in love is awesome, but the minute they sense heartbreak is a part of the contract, they go numb, which reads as them being cold. The coldness, in turn, acts as a buffer of emotions to their partner and so begins the end of the relationship.
