Could a sex unicorn be what you need to improve your sex life?

Are unicorns taking over the world? From Starbucks and cupcakes to leggings, and now sex, unicorns are a hot topic right now.
What is a unicorn in a threesome? Well, the sex unicorn refers to a third party female who joins another couple in bed for their sexual escapades. Usually, this woman is bisexual or bi-curious.
The term "unicorn" is used because of its connotation, meaning rare and mythical. In the world of women, it’s rare to find one that will willingly have sex with a couple without looking for a relationship or commitment. The unicorn can be male, female, or other genders too.
The sex unicorn has been best described as “the person who joins a couple either for a threesome or to enter into a triad polyamorous relationship.”
Speaking with real life sex unicorns, The Daily Star got the scoop on what it’s like to be one of these people.
Meredith Clark, a former sex unicorn, offered up this description, explaining that she would join couples in bed without forming actual relationships with either one of them. Going into this relationship, Clark says that she was well aware that she wasn’t an equal (in the relationship sense) and she merely was there to spice up their sex life.
While it might sound kind of sad for the unicorn, it actually works out perfectly for people who don’t like commitment but love to have sex, especially threesomes. Clark said that she liked being in charge of whether or not she spent time with these couples. To her, the keys to these kinds of relationships are boundaries and communication.
Alana Heiss, another unicorn, revealed what her experience has been like.
“Two years ago, I matched with B & P on Tinder. We met up for a drink to see if we hit it off. Our chemistry was off the charts. We slept together that first night, and I’ve been seeing them ever since. It’s the most loving and honest relationship I’ve ever been in, even if I’m still struggling for words to describe it. We’re in uncharted territory. We’re not poly — I’m the only side girl they see, although that’s just their practice and not a rule,” Heiss said.
While her partners are engaged, she stills sees them as a couple.
“They’re the perfect relationship for me now — we have consistent enough sex that’s hot and loving at the same time, and this setup doesn’t require a whole lot of my time. They have each other; they fit into each other’s big plans. I mostly fit into their weekend plans, and I’m fine with that,” Heiss added.
Lili Silver is another unicorn who was in a relationship with her best friends from university, a married couple.
“We moved into a studio apartment together. Granted, he was only there part-time, holding down a job in another state. But she and I did everything together, from planning meals to planning a future,” Silver explained.
Because they started to have sex in pairs instead of in threesomes, the relationship ultimately did not work out.
