6 Best Adult Easter Basket Fillers (Including Gin And Tonic Easter Eggs)

Gin Tonic Egg Adult Easter Basket

Easter is a fun holiday filled with bright colors, bunnies and family dinners that you can only hope don't end in: "Why are you still single?" or "When are you going to make me a Grandma?" or "Well, your cousin Lucy made partner at her firm. What are you doing with your life?"

You know you want to throw one of those bedazzled eggs at relatives by the time all is said and done. Don't lie. I see you smirking.

However, if you don't have a traditional family that celebrates Easter, you may have a group of friends (that I assume are 21 or older) that you gather with on that very special Sunday.

If you do—boy, do I have some fun ideas for you! Easter baskets aren't just for children anymore, my friends! Why can't the adults have fun, too?

After some digging around the interwebz, we've found the best ideas to complete your adult Easter basket!

So hop on down below (get it? hop? Easter bunny? I'll see myself out.) to see what we've got for you:

1. Gin & Tonic Easter eggs.

If you happen to live in the UK and were one of the folks who bought these babies right when they were released, consider yourself lucky because they are SOLD OUT!

According to Prestat's site:

The extravagant egg is made from the finest milk chocolate flavoured with lemon oil. It is then filled with truffles made with ganache flavoured with gin and Mediterranean lemon oil, all enrobed in a creamy white chocolate. However, a bite of Prestat’s homage to a London Gin and tonic reveals another secret ingredient - a magical fizz that tingles on your tongue.

That. Sounds. DELICIOUS! More than likely, you're out of luck with these. But you can just buy some chocolate eggs and eat them with your gin & tonic. The Food Network has the best recipe:

You'll Need:

4-5 tonic water ice cubes;
3 oz. of gin;
4 oz. of tonic water;
1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lime juice;
lime wedge for garnish.

How To Make:

1. Place the ice cubes in a tall, narrow, chilled glass (the cubes should come near the top.)
2. Add the gin, then the tonic water, then the lime juice, stirring well.
3. Garnish with lime wedge, and serve immediately.

Note: To make the ice cubes, simply fill an empty ice cube tray with tonic water, and let the cubes freeze. It takes just a few hours. Covered well, the cubes will remain fresh-tasting in the freezer for at least a few weeks.

2. Peeps vodka.

Do these not look like the most adorable AND yummy drinks ever? Allrecipes has a pretty easy way to make this so let's do it!

You'll Need:

10-pack one Peeps (preferably all the same color)
750ml bottle of Vodka

How To Make:

1. Put marshmallow chicks in a glass jar or bottle and top with vodka.
2. Cover jar.
3. Allow marshmallows to sit until colored coating is dissolved into the vodka and marshmallows are mostly dissolved—2 to 3 days.
4. Strain marshmallow pieces out of vodka.
5. Pour vodka back into the bottle or another airtight container.

Note: For a sweeter vodka, allow to dissolve for 3 days. For a less sweet version, stick with 2 days. Also, if you want to put this in your Easter basket, just pour into small mason jars, screw on the lid and voila! You're welcome.

3. Boozy bunny shots.

These look so easy to do and so super yummy.

All you need to do is buy some hollow chocolate bunnies, cut the tops off their heads (I know, so sad!), and poor some Irish creme liqueur and you have yourself some bunny shot glasses.

4. Prosecco Easter egg.

Inside you’ll find 6 exclusive Prosecco truffles that are made with a delicious chocolate ganache and premium grappa prosecco. We consider this to be a masterpiece made by our expert chocolatiers.

This one is incredibly easy and probably the cheapest.

You can grab those clear plastic colored eggs from your local dollar store along with some mini bottles of liquor from ... well ... your local liquor store and BAM!

6. Good old basket full of alcohol.

Not all of us are into going the extra step and I get it. I'm totally that way. If I can Amazon prime something even though I'm able to go to the store to get it, I will. Yes, I'm that lazy!

So if you want to bring something to your friend's Easter shindig but don't want to go too crazy, just buy a basket (again, here's where the dollar store is useful), your beverage of choice and you're done!

No matter which beverage you choose, drink responsibly. There are tons of ideas for liquor Easter baskets on Pinterest, so go crazy! Oh, and have fun!
