One of the reasons that horoscopes and articles about how your fingers nails express your personality is that we love to read about ourselves, especially if it’s positive. You could be the most confident person in the world but you’d still enjoy reading about how strong, intelligent, and hot you are.
Sometimes we just need a little emotional pick-me-up. You want to reminded of why you’re special and why you matter to the world. I know I do. I want to see it in black and white how I matter and what the qualities I have that make me unique and worthy.

As much as I want to know how I’m unique, I also like the feeling of belonging to a group. I guess that’s why I like having Facebook friends from elementary school through college and from various jobs and upper education I’ve had over the years.
These people from my past and I share experiences and specific knowledge that not everyone has. We not only know what a peanut butter chew is, we can practically taste its deliciousness just by hearing the name.
In life, we have various routines that we follow — start work at such and such time, break for lunch at this time, and so on. We can start to feel as if we’re just like everybody else with the same purposes in life, and that’s why it’s good to remember why we’re amazing and unique.

Anything that gives you a little insight into your life, actions, and personality is a good thing. And besides, things like horoscopes and “do you remember?” memes don’t hurt anybody — they’re just for fun and to give you a moment of “Yes, I’m awesome.”
