Our hopes are officially up. Time's been ticking for a while now, and there's still no confirmation on which two lucky actors will bring Fifty Shades of Grey's title roles to the big screen.
While director Sam Taylor-Johnson and author E.L. James have been mum on any and all buzz, it's now rumored that studio sources told Cinema Blend that announcements will be made after Labor Day.
This means that in potentially six days our Christian Grey casting speculations can come to an end. And since we've been following every titillating detail of the process, you know we're eagerly waiting for news—even if it is just "official offers."
But let's be honest, what studio wants to announce they offered the roles to actors who have yet to sign on the dotted line? Talk about a tease. We have an inkling that this post-holiday announcement will be the real deal.
After all, if the film plans to keep its Aug. 1, 2014 release date, they can't waste any more time hemming and hawing over something like casting. So, as we count down the days to the big announcement, let's relive some of the better arguments for actors like Matt Bomer, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Henry Cavill and even Ian Somerhalder.
