Astrology gets a bad rap and is often looked down upon as hocus pocus or just a fun conversation starter on a first date. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. Those who delve deep into zodiac signs and planetary transits actually become smarter, and there are some very real reasons why.
People who are into astrology usually become more intelligent for these reasons:

Intelligence is more than just memorizing facts. The smartest people can notice patterns and make conclusions based on what they see. This isn't something you're born with, and astrology can help you hone this skill.
"Astrology is literally data collection," an astrologer named Abigail explained. "It's about seeing the connection between data." For example, whenever two planets form a square, we tend to experience friction. Those who study astrology pick up on this pattern. So, the next time Mars squares Pluto, for example, they remember what they've seen before and use this knowlege to make accurate predictions.
2. They question what people accept
"Astrology is something that some people fear," Abigail pointed out. "Some people think it's the devil's work. Others think it's stupid." However, that doesn't stop us from enjoying it. We know that there is so much more to astrology than other people believe.
Astrology gets people to think, and though it's not foolproof, it can certainly help you solve problems in your life. Yet, to do so, you must question all assumptions. Psychological flexibility, or being willing to challenge your beliefs, is a key part of intelligence, and something astrology encourages.
3. They are willing to be wrong

Astrology isn't a cure-all, and people who study it must be willing to be wrong. Like all research, there's a ton of information out there, and astrologers are always changing their hypotheses. As a result, they're constantly reevaluating what they thought they knew.
It may sound counterintuitive, but admitting when you're wrong is a mark of intelligence, assuming you reassess and keep looking for the correct answer. As Abigail put it, "When you're hyper-intelligent, you don't need to be defensive because you can always find another route."
4. They learn to interpret meaning
Astrology is all about interpreting meaning. Naming what you see isn’t enough. You have to make sense of it all. There is so much going on in any chart, and you must figure out what is important and what it's all telling you.
"Astrology is built off the foundation of other people," Abigail explained. "But ultimately do have to bring our own interpretation to the game." It's never straightforward, so getting good at it definitely makes you more intelligent.
5. They can simplify complex topics

It's easy to say all Leos are confident or all Cancers are emotional. But when you get into the nitty-gritty, astrology is very complex. Making it digestible for the masses requires a high level of intelligence.
From planetary transits to astrological houses and zodiac signs, there are many moving parts. "So translating complex concepts in astrology into something simple and easy and digestible is probably the most intelligent thing that you will learn," Abigail said. It's really no wonder astrology lovers and experts are so smart!
