Love makes us do some pretty crazy things. And sometimes, we feel the need to prove it to the entire world. And no, we don't mean getting a tattoo of your partner's name on your leg or proposing on the big screen at the Yankee game. We mean renewing your marriage vows 101 times or making out for 58 hours.

Who would go to such extremes you ask? Meet the Guinness World Record-holders in all-things love. They gave up sleep, food and even going to the bathroom alone, all in the name of loving longer than anyone else.

Who's hugged the longest? Kissed the longest? Been on the most expensive date? Take a look below as we count down the world's most loving record-breakers.

1. The Longest Hug: 24 hours 33 minutes

Ron O'Neil and Theresa Kerr showed the world how much they love to embrace at Centennail Beach in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, in June 2010 when they locked arms on a wooden platform under a tent for 24 hours and 33 minutes. Without sleep, they remained in continuous clinch the entire time in order to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF). We imagine their oxytocin (the love hormone) levels are off the chart.

2. Longest Kiss: 58 hours 33 minutes

Remember when we told you how more kissing can save your marriage? Well, we meant that, but here's a couple who went a little overboard. Ekkachai Tiranarat and Laksana Tiranarat locked lips for 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds at a Ripley's Believe It or Not! event in Pattaya, Thailand in February 2013. The couple wasn't allowed to sit, rest or snooze. As for bathroom breaks? They had to go while kissing. But the husband and wife aren't strangers to record-breaking smooches — they won the contest in 2011, too. This year, they walked away with $3,300, two diamond rings and most likely, very chapped lips.

3. Largest Game Of "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not": 331 people

Since a young age, we've all known that the best way to tell if someone likes you is by plucking daisy petals ... right? While the game of French origin really just destroys pretty flowers, it's the type of activity that instantly brings you back to the days when your first crush used to chase you around the sandbox. But for some, the game's never over. In April 2009, On the set of Lo Show Dei Record in Milan, 331 simultaneously plucked daisy petals in hopes of finding out how their crush feels.

If you live in San Fransico you may have noticed a man this year spreading the love as he attempted to break the world record for most hugs in a day. He managed to give out a lot (3,162) of embraces to strangers,  but he did not break the record. Jonathan Sexton, the hugging champion, reached his goal in June 2011 at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. There, he wrapped his arms around 8,709 strangers in order to raise money for United Way's "Restore the Dream" fund, which aided individuals attempted by flooding in Nashville.

5. Most Frequent Sex: 50 Times in 3-4 Hours, All With The Same Female

Before you freak out or call the cops, let us tell you, the lucky guy who holds this record is actually the scaly cricket Ornebius aperta from Australia, who can do it more than 50 times in three to four hours, all with the same lady friend. When they mate, a bag of sperm is placed on the female, which she instantly eats due to its high nutritional value. We imagine she's a very healthy cricket.

6. Oldest Love Poem: Istanbul #2461

Old love poems go well beyond Shakespeare. All the way back to 2037 BC when "Istanbul #2461" was written on a clay tablet. It's believed that the wife of Sumerian King Shu-Sin, who ruled between 2037 and 2029 BC, recited this poem to her husband. See the first love poem here.
