Rumors are swirling that Tom Holland and Zendaya are engaged and fans are absolutely beside themselves with excitement.

The lowkey couple seems to be going strong since first confirming their relationship in 2021 and now sources are claiming they're taking the next step.

Are Zendaya and Tom Holland engaged?

Though neither Zendaya nor Holland have confirmed any plans to get married, sources are claiming that the two are moving in that direction.

However, with regard to the engagement rumors, they seem to have surfaced primarily on social media.

A source claims Holland and Zendaya are 'settling down' together.

A source told Us Weekly that the two 26-year-olds are “serious and permanent.”

“They’re both in settling-down mode and are absolutely planning for a real future together,” the source adds.

The couple met in 2016 on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Though they were speculated to be dating in 2017, they were both linked to other people by 2020.

In July 2021, fans finally got confirmation of their romance when they were photographed kissing in a car — shortly before promotion ramped up for the third installment of their Spider-Man franchise, "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

Rumors first surfaced about Zendaya and Holland's engagement in October 2021.

In an anonymous tip sent to celebrity gossip account, DeuxMoi, someone claimed to have overheard a conversation about an alleged engagement.

The subject line of the tip reads: “Superheroes to the altar.”

And the source claims they heard, “news of this young A-listers engagement to another young A-lister.”

“Apparently they’re planning on confirming once their highly anticipated superhero movie is released.”

This prompted fans to speculate that the tip is referring to Holland and the "Euphoria" actress because it surfaced in the midst of their press run for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” which was released at the end of 2021.

In a follow-up post, DeuxMoi hinted that the post was about Zendaya and Holland.

When someone responded to the original tip writing, “This is going to make Tom and Zendaya fans go crazy,” the gossip account claimed, “I heard they are very serious about one another from a very reliable source.”

However, the promised confirmation of the rumors never came.

Another source denied that Zendaya and Holland are engaged.

Given that DeuxMoi isn’t always the most reliable source of information, it’s not uncommon for sources on the account to contradict one another.

Another anonymous poster disputed the rumored engagement.

“I think they are genuinely in love but they’re probably a long ways away from an engagement,” they wrote.

However, it's likely fans will have to wait for confirmation since the couple isn't known to be particularly open about their relationship.

Holland told GQ in November 2021 that privacy is important to him and Zendaya and touched on how it felt for their relationship to be revealed before they were read.

“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world … We sort of felt robbed of our privacy,” Holland said.

He also added that he doesn’t like to discuss their relationship without Zendaya.

“It’s not a conversation that I can have without her,” he explained. “You know, I respect her too much to say … This isn’t my story. It’s our story. And we’ll talk about what it is when we’re ready to talk about it together.”
