They've been together for almost two years.

Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 and Angels and Airwaves posted a photo on Instagram on December 19. It was of him... and a woman.
He captioned it, "When you take the lady friend on tour for her first time, and she only knows you as a guy that “used” to play music. A little overwhelming for her yes, but still super fun. We have been together for almost two years now, and it still feels new. Love you, Marie."
Wait, what? Tom DeLonge is divorced — and he has a new girlfriend? The news took a lot of fans by surprise.
DeLonge is a man of many talents. He's fronted two wildly successful bands. He studied for his Ph.D, and has also been keeping his relationship with the mysterious Marie completely under wraps for two years. And you know what? Good for him!
But what about his wife, Jennifer Jenkins DeLonge? It turns out Tom and Jennifer filed for divorce this year after 18 years of marriage. Jennifer, as fans may remember, has known Tom since high school. They got together in 1996, got married in 2001 (Jimmy Eat World performed at their reception!), had two kids, and now, apparently, are not only dunzo, but Tom moved on quite a while ago if his Instagram caption is to be believed.
There's a lot to unpack here, so let's start with what happened with his ex, Jennifer, and then get into: Who is Tom DeLonge's girlfriend, Marie?
1. Tom filed for divorce from his ex-wife Jennifer on September 3rd.
San Diego Superior Court records reveal that DeLonge filed from divorce from his wife, Jennifer Jenkins DeLonge — who still uses his last name on Instagram — on September 3rd, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the dissolution of their 18-year marriage.
The divorce filing lists December 29, 2017 as the date of separation, which makes the "almost two years" with his new girlfriend, Marie, make more sense. DeLonge and his ex-wife have two kids, Ava Elizabeth, 17, and Jonas Rocket, 13. He asked for joint legal and physical custody of his kids. The divorce filing indicated that spousal support would be figured out later.
2. Marie is on tour with Tom and Angels and Airwaves.
Angels and Airwaves (AVA), DeLonge's current band, is on tour right now through the end of January. His Instagram post indicated Marie was out on tour with him.
The couple (along with AVA) will be hitting Oklahoma and Texas before a couple of nights in Canada and then a swing through Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Virginia.
3. Who is Tom DeLonge's girlfriend, Marie?
So, just who is this mysterious Marie that DeLonge has been dating for almost two years? That's a very good question, especially since he didn't tag her in the photo he posted, so we can't surmise a last name or an Instagram profile to stalk.
While DeLonge appears to have "gone Instagram official" with Marie on December 19th, it's the one and only time she appears on his Instagram feed. What takes up most of his feed is a lot of pics of dogs driving cars, UFO stuff, old Blink-182 photos, and a ton of selfies and shots of AVA shows.
Marie is a mystery, which is probably just how DeLonge wants it — especially since he never formally announced his divorce to his ex-wife (it was a surprise to most fans) and kept Marie a secret for almost two years.
4. Tom is really into UFOs.
Speaking of pursuits in DeLonge's life that aren't his music (like his relationship with Marie), he's really into UFO research. Like, super-duper obsessed with UFO research.
In 2015 (the same year he left Blink 182), DeLonge founded To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences, which is an organization dedicated to the study of UFOs. A few years ago, Navy pilots took videos of something resembling UFO activity, which excited conspiracy theorists and extraterrestrial enthusiasts, of which DeLonge is a member.
Well, recently, he got the ultimate validation when the Navy acknowledged that one of the videos DeLonge's UFO organization released is real — or, at least whatever was in that video cannot be identified — which the aforementioned conspiracy theorists and extraterrestrial enthusiasts took as confirmation to quote one of Blink-182's hit song, that "aliens exist."
5. He has a UFO series on the History Channel.
DeLonge is an executive producer on the History Channel mini-series, Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation, which is about the government’s secret UFO program. The show features an ongoing interview with former military intelligence officer Luis Elizondo, who headed up the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program until it was shut down in 2012.
Elizondo joined DeLonge's To the Stars Academy when he retired from the Pentagon. The show features newly-authenticated evidence of UFOs as well as interviews with people who are eyewitnesses to the phenomena and former military personnel.
6. She makes him feel like Superman.
On December 21st, DeLonge posted another photo with Marie, making it pretty clear he's head over heels for her. He captioned the photo: "I remember dating a little bit when I first separated a couple years ago, and it didn’t feel right.... but then I finally started dating this amazing woman, it quickly became very clear that I finally met a best friend, and soulmate for life. I now kind of feel like Superman, love it. (Pic taken on tour somewhere)"
7. She has two kids
Once DeLonge started posting pictures with Marie on his Instagram feed, he didn't stop. He posted a third photo with Marie on Monday, December 23rd. In the caption he revealed that she's four years younger than he is (making her 40) and she has two sons. He wrote: "Coming home to my hot birdie... Even though she’s 4 years younger than me, she’s like 100x wiser. Being with another parent is so important- as one becomes selfless through bringing a child into this world. She has two amazing little boys, that I have been honored to get to know over the past 2 years. I’m super excited for all the kiddos this Christmas! Each year just gets better, and better (heart emoji) U Marie."
Only time will tell if more information about DeLonge's girlfriend Marie comes out. For now, all we have is the three Instagram photos and his declaration of love in the captions.
Who Marie actually is, well... that's still mostly a mystery right now (Just like UFOs!). We're happy for the couple and if we can uncover any new information about Marie, we'll be sure to update this article.
