Meet 31-year-old portfolio manager Mike Johnson from San Antonio, Texas. He’s a fan favorite on season 15 of ABC’s The Bachelorette, probably because he’s not afraid to be vulnerable even though he’s a U.S. Air Force veteran. If you’re like my roommate and I and don’t have the best memory for the specifics of each contestant, the following list will be a useful refresher. Who is Mike Johnson?

1. He volunteers

While Johnson was in the Air Force, he volunteered for Breast Cancer awareness in 2011 and 2012. He has also volunteered for several other charitable organizations like Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America; the Children’s Aid Society; and Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

2. He likes to stay active

Johnson enjoys Krav Maga, a self-defense and physical training regimen developed by the Israeli Army in the 1940s. His bio reveals that he’d love to get into Parkour, a training system that was inspired by military obstacle courses. He frequents trampoline parks, which is such a cute and fun random fact.

3. He calls people out on their bull****

But he does so in a cool, calm, and collected way, which has helped him win audiences over. He’s particularly known for his pointed criticisms of Luke P., whom he thinks (along with a few other contestants) wasn’t on the show for the right reasons.

THE FOLLOWING POINT IS A SPOILER. DON’T READ ON IF YOU HAVEN’T CAUGHT UP YET!

4. He was sent home

On the July 1st episode, Hannah let Mike go after a one-on-one date. After a bike ride, Hannah tearfully told him she wasn’t ready for a relationship with him. Just like Hannah, who was a contestant on the show when Colton Underwood was The Bachelor, Mike was sent home just before the hometown dates.
