People fall in love, then they fall out of it when the relationship turns sour or compatibility doesn't last.
When a person claims to hate a person they once loved, it can actually mean the relationship is over, but the feelings are not.
Breaking up with someone is one thing, but harboring negative emotions towards them is something completely different. Usually, when we break up with someone, we are able to move on and find someone else who’s a better fit for ourselves.
Other times, moving on after a break up isn’t so easy. Whether you still have feelings for your ex, or your ex won’t let you get away with a clean break, there are relationships that have residual emotions that last long after you break up.
One of those emotions is anger. Sure, you might be able to argue that you both hate your ex and don’t care about them, but since anger IS an emotion, you still feel some sort of way about them, even if you don’t think about them anymore.
But even when you’ve moved on, and even when you’ve found someone who is so much better for you, why can’t you let go of those negative emotions? Every zodiac sign has something they just can’t tolerate from people.
Whether it’s a personality trait that’s just so annoying or a bad habit, we all have our limits. And whatever you hate most about your ex might be the reason you ended things in the first place.
If you’ve been dating someone new, you want to make sure that he doesn’t still have feelings for his ex… but can we say that anger is still a “feeling” when it comes to how someone feels about their ex?
Holding onto anger might mean he hasn’t fully moved on yet, in some way or another, or could be using his anger as a defense mechanism. Depending on who you ask, holding onto anger for an ex might not be such a good idea.
But if you ask me, the reason behind the anger – not the anger itself – can be something important to hold onto. Think of it like your zodiac sign’s deal breaker: you certainly don’t want anyone else to treat you the way your ex treated you, so rather than put up with it happening again, your anger is what makes sure you’re treated well.
My point is, listen to his reasoning for having bad feelings toward his ex before making assumptions. You might learn something new about him.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries hates his ex because she never stood up for herself. He might be a little bit argumentative at times, but it wasn’t so much the fact that she didn’t like confrontation as it was the fact that she couldn’t (or wouldn’t) speak her mind when it mattered most.
Aries wants to date someone he knows he can count on, which means knowing that you’re going to fight for the relationship, or at least yourself, when it matters. If he has to pull the truth out of you, you’re just going to end up on his list of exes.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus doesn’t care for his ex because she’s so unreliable. One of the main reasons Taurus choose someone to date – and hopefully date for a long time – is because he knows that they will always have his back. He’s all about respect and stability in his relationships.
The reason his ex is his ex and not his current boo is because she didn’t respect him enough to let him rely on her. Yes, Taurus like the familiar and predictable in life, but it’s only because he doesn’t want to always guess what your true feelings are or if you’re even serious about him.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini hates his ex because she was terrible at communication. I mean, can you imagine Gemini with anyone who isn’t a pro at communicating like him? Neither can he, which is why she’s his ex.
From small things like a daily text or tagging each other on Instagram to big things like expressing yourself during a disagreement, communication is really important to Gemini. He needs you to let your feelings known, not hide them away.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer can’t stand his ex because she never thought about the future. And before you think, “Oh, well she wanted to live in the moment!” that’s not what I mean. I mean that whenever the topic of family, kids, and even her career came up in conversation, she shrugged it off.
You might not have the same goals and ambitions as Cancer, but he’ll respect you all the same if you’re at least working towards something in life. There’s nothing confident or admirable about someone who is totally comfortable going nowhere in life. At least, not to Cancer.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo hates his ex because she was always so pessimistic. We can’t all be rays of sunshine every day, but there’s a difference between choosing to be negative and grumpy every day and just being down on your luck.
Leo’s confidence comes from having pride in himself, and being a naturally positive person. He knows that you catch a lot more flies with honey than vinegar, just like he knows you’re much more likely to be fun in a relationship if you actually want to be in it.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo hates his ex because she was never interested in working on herself. Virgo is always putting in work to perfect himself and believes that there’s always room to grow and improve. That’s why it means so much to him to be with someone who feels the same.
Your growth might be different than his, but seeing you work to realize your dreams and actually want to do some good for yourself is a must-have for him. The reason he hates his ex is that she already thought there either was no room for improvement or just didn’t care.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra can’t stand his ex because she was incredibly rude. She might not have been rude to him, but she certainly wasn’t kindhearted to strangers, acquaintances, and even his friends.
Libra is not someone who will ever put up with a rude person, no matter how much he might like their other qualities. Being rude to everyone – or pretending to be kind to some people but showing your true colors to others – is a huge deal breaker for him.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpio hates his ex because she was always lying to him. If there’s only one thing you should know about Scorpio, it’s that he absolutely cannot tolerate a liar. He doesn’t let just anyone into his life, so when he considers you a friend or a girlfriend, it means a lot.
The minute Scorpio finds out his ex was lying to him – even if it was just a few white lies – he most likely ended things for good with her. It can take Scorpio a long time to completely open up to someone, so losing a person he thought was important can be really hard on him.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius doesn’t care for his ex because she was closed-minded. Sagittarius is all about making the most out of life, and he refuses to spend time with people who are only going to waste his precious time.
The reason he can’t stand his ex is because she doesn’t have the same mindset as him. He wants to date someone who he can have deep conversations with and go on adventures with. So, being with someone who clearly doesn’t want to expand their horizons is a big no-no for him.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn can’t stand his ex because she never had any ambition. Being able to set goals is one thing, but having the motivation and excitement to actually make things happen for yourself is something completely different. Capricorn’s ex was into either, but especially not having ambition.
Capricorn is not one to waste his time being with someone who clearly doesn’t have the same outlook on life that he does. He wants to know that there is something more to your life than just your relationship with him, which is why he wants to know you have goals and aspirations, too.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius hates his ex because she was always trying to control him. If there’s one thing Aquarius can’t stand, it’s being told what to do by anyone, including someone he cares about. He is perfectly capable of making his own decisions and living his own life, thank you very much.
The minute Aquarius realized that his ex wanted him to be someone different or force him to fit into a certain boyfriend mold, he was out of there for good. You can’t boss Aquarius around and expect him to stay, amirite?
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces hates his ex because she always ignored his feelings. Pisces is a very sensitive zodiac sign who wants to know that the person he’s venting to or coming to for advice actually wants to listen to what he has to say.
The reason they broke up was because he felt like she was ignoring his feelings. Rather than let him talk about what was bothering him or giving him a shoulder to lean on, she dismissed him and made him feel like he was being selfish or overreacting. Pisces doesn’t need that negativity in his life.
