Is Nicki Minaj pregnant? It’s a new year and Nicki Minaj has a new boyfriend. Is she looking at having a new baby as well?
The Chun-Li rapper got fans riled up earlier this year when she posted a photo of herself drinking pickle juice for breakfast. Since salty brine is more often associated with pregnancy that a morning meal, fans immediately went on high-alert for more clues that the singer might be expecting a baby with new boyfriend Kenneth Petty. But Petty isn't a model potential papa. He has a long record of violent crimes. Minaj know all about it and is forging ahead with the relationship.

1. New BF
Minaj went Instagram official about her latest boyfriend, Kenneth Petty, in December 2018. She posted a photo of the two of them posing together. She’s been posting pics regularly since then.
2. Old friends
Kenneth may be a new love for Minaj but he’s not a new presence in her life. She took to Twitter to share a little of their history saying “...we were like this about each other since we were very young kids in the hood. He was on my body b4 the big ol’ ghetto booty. B4 the fame & fortune. Fought my bf cuz I wouldn’t be his girl. He was always a lil brazy. But anyway, timing is everything.”
3. Checkered past
If Pettyer has known Minaj since before she was famous, she has known him since his days of being in major trouble. He's been on sex offender registry since he was 16 years old, after he was convicted of raping a teenager in 1995. He also did time for a manslaughter conviction in 2002. His history of violence trouble Minaj’s fans and they let her hear about it. She had to shut down comments on the first photo she posted of them as a couple because fans were so fired up.
4. Forgiveness
While Minaj knows for sure what Petty has done in the past, she believes he’s grown up since then. A source close to the rapper told US Weekly, “She really believes that he has changed since his troublesome days, but some of her friends are still a bit wary.”
5. Plans for the future
Minaj posted a photo in January of the pair laughing. She included the caption “He want me to be his wife - his MISSIS like SIPPI NOW.” Fans noted how happy she looks. No word on an official engagement or wedding plans but it sure seems like they both have their eye on the idea.
6. Maybe Baby?
When Minaj took to Instagram with a story about drinking pickle juice for breakfast, fans began leaping to the conclusion that it was a pregnancy craving. She increased speculation when she took to Twitter and said she and Petty have sex multiple times per night. When fans offered up suggestions for baby names, she said she and Petty already have some picked out.
7. Not confirmed
For now, the pregnancy rumors are just rumors. Minaj even tried to put them on ice, tweeting “Nothing is getting in the way of the US TOUR boo boo.” So maybe baby plans are on hold until after her tour wraps up.
