Bougie is a kicky little word, but what does it mean? Well, according to the great and wonderful internet, and the Urban Dictionary, bougie means: "Anything that is percieved as 'upscale' from a blue-collar point of view. 'Bougie' (pronounced boo-she) is a hacked truncation of the word Bourgeoisie, which refers to the middle-class in Europe, but refers to a more affluent class level in the United States."
In astrology, the bougie zodiac signs are what folks with no money call other folks with no money who act in a "filthy rich" way. Driving up to the food stamps office in a Mercedes Benz, or getting a solid gold mani-pedi while not being able to afford baby formula. Bougie is when you wear Louis Vuitton, but you can't pay your rent.
Bougie attitude is really about worshipping luxury when you can't afford it, but you manage to get it in your life anyway. Bougie is all about impressing your friends with your richness! It's like putting out a neon banner that says, "I worship things! See my things! I'm superior to you because I have things!"
I suppose they never heard of the French Revolution. Death to the Bourgeoisie!
1. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Part of what makes Libra so bougie is that they can't stop spending their money, no matter how little of it they have. Spendthrifts to the death, Libra is so enamored of material things that they will put themselves into danger just to impress a crowd of strangers with their ability to show off their riches.
False bravado allows Libra to fool themselves for the majority of their lives.
2. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
While Cancer probably likes to think of themselves as far from Bougie mentality, the truth is quite different. Oh sure, they may not be investing their time and money in diamonds or fast cars, but they will be the first on the block to roll out the high end yoga gear.
No money for work out duds? That doesn't stop Cancer! It's Lululemon all the way for this bunch.
3. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Bougie doesn't exist without Aries, as no sign is more impressed with "stuff" than Aries, and stuff is what they acquire... for the purpose of impressing others. They are smitten by "shiny" objects and they will beg, borrow or steal to get said objects.
They equate the look of money with respect, and they spare no expense, even when they have no money to spare, to get the stuff that dreams are made of.
4. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
For this sign, it's about flaunting their riches and making you feel bad for not having what they have. Superficial to the very end, Scorpio takes pride in how they can appear to be filthy rich, even when they're starved.
Scorpio is a hugely bougie sign because they are wildly attracted to expensive things, and they are prepared to kill for what they want.
5. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo is bougie. It could be their last name. Leo Bougie in the house. Yes, the big cat likes the big stuff. In fact, they like all the big stuff and they like when you notice how they HAVE all the big stuff.
No money? No problem. They'll convince people to give them the big stuff, and they'll flaunt it proudly.
6. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo might be the sign that is most susceptible to the lure of expensive items; they cannot resist them, and yes, they will steal if they have to, to get them. Virgo is the sign that believes in status; flaunting gold and silver is what makes them feel like they have power.
Virgo associates the gathering of expensive items with being successful, and appearing successful is everything to them. Bougie all the way home.
