People start affairs for a number of reasons. Maybe you’re unhappy in your current relationship. Maybe he’s the unhappy one and you’re unattached and just looking for a good time.
Whatever your reasoning is for wanting to start something new with someone outside of your relationship, you know going into it (or you should know) that affairs don’t usually last all that long.
Of course, there are probably some outliers that can last, and can sometimes even turn into something serious, but for the most part, affairs are temporary and fleeting – and bound to end eventually, in some way or another.
Why they end is an entirely different matter (and can even have something to do with your horoscope sign). Sometimes, you’ll know exactly why your affair ended, which often includes one or both partners finding out about the affair.
But then there are the times when you’re left scratching your head, wondering why he up and ended your affair so quickly. We are all looking for something different in a relationship, and whether we realize we do it or not, we all put out different vibes that we think will make it clear what we want from our partner.
Even in affairs, we put out non-verbal vibes that help us tell our partners what we’re looking for.
If all you want is something physical, your vibe would be keeping things serious in the bedroom and keeping it as low-key as possible everywhere else.
If you want a relationship with great communication and a strong foundation, you might try ways to connect with your partner on a more emotional level.
Of course, this might not always be what your partner wants, especially in an affair, so he might start pulling away or even ending it if he things you’re taking things too seriously.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
He ended your affair because you can be too impulsive at times, Aries. Affairs are meant to be secretive, and when he's not sure exactly how you'll handle the secrecy, it makes him nervous.
He wasn't sure if you'd tell all your friends, take him out where you two could be seen, or what, but having to always be on his toes to make sure things were kept under covers was too much.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Your affair ended because you're way too stubborn for an affair, Taurus. You much prefer to be in a real relationship (not one that feels like a lie) and he knew that.
There are a lot of things you want to achieve in life and being in love with someone who's in love with you is one of them. It might hurt now, but the end of the affair is the best thing for you.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
An affair is supposed to be light and breezy, not something serious, right? If he ended your affair, Gemini, it's probably because he was starting to have real feelings for you.
You prefer relationships with zero commitment and no expectations, which is why affairs and FWB are great for you. But he knew that catching feelings was wrong, so he called it quits.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
In every relationship you're a part of – including affairs – wanting an emotional and meaningful connection is natural, Cancer. You're drawn to people who make you feel alive and loved.
He, on the other hand, wants something casual, which is not something you can give easily. He ended things because you weren't on the same page about your feelings.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
It's normal for people in affairs to be needy, to want to be wanted, Leo. I mean, that's one of the main reasons people start affairs, right? Because they want something they're not getting.

VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo, you like the idea of being in an affair with someone because it gives you a chance to "test drive" a relationship without making a commitment before you're ready.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
There are so many temporary factors in an affair that it's hard for you not to be apathetic at times, Libra. Yes, you care about the people who are important to you, but affairs are different.
You seem to care more about the physical aspect of your affair, which is justified, but he can't get over your inability to care more. Maybe he wanted something more, but instead, it's over.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Monogamy isn't really for you, Scorpio. Unless you're madly in love with someone, you're not likely to invest everything you have in an affair that's most likely going to end soon anyway.
You're also very good at using people you don't care about, which is probably the reason why he ended things. You proved to him that any connection besides physical was never gonna happen.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Honesty is very refreshing (and needed) in any relationship, but there are limits to how honest you should be, Sagittarius. This is especially true in affairs, where secrecy is key.
It's not just you wanting to share details about your affair with your BFFs that made him end it. It's the fact that you're brutally honest about how little this means to you. Even if you're right, it's harsh.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Chances are, you were the one who initiated the affair, Capricorn. You knew that having an affair would be different than a real relationship, but you want to make it work.
That said, you want to be in a relationship that's full of love, but he wants to keep things casual and unattached. Voicing your needs is important, but it also proved to him that this isn't the right match for you.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius, you don't mind casual affairs. You've never been a big fan of serious relationships (because they can feel claustrophobic), so unless you really like a person, something casual works.
You're also not one to stay in any relationship for very long, but you distance yourself emotionally before you do physically. He can tell you're not happy anymore, which is why it's over.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
He decided to end the affair because you keep trying to run away from the truth, Pisces. You so badly want to be loved that you'll look for it anywhere – including an affair that won't last.
When he keeps trying to be honest with you, you refuse to listen. You just want all the good things of a relationship, even if it means brushing the hard stuff under the rug, which just isn't healthy.
