We ALL deal with being nervous – there's no getting around that. Just because the same things that make someone else nervous doesn't make you nervous doesn't mean you never experience that feeling.

Sure, some horoscopes deal with nervousness a lot more frequently than others, but whether it's a common occurrence for you or it comes and goes, we all deal with it (and we all handle it differently).

Being nervous can come from a lot of different situations; there's really no way to list them all or to tell exactly what will set off someone's nerves unless they tell you beforehand. For a lot of people, though, common things like public speaking, interviews, meeting new people, and spending time with family can make us anxious.

And what's more, nervousness doesn't usually just happen right before that presentation at work or as you're ringing the doorbell of your boyfriend's house to meet his parents. It's something that we mull over hours, days, or even weeks before it actually happens, which means that we're doing a number on our bodies and minds leading up to that one thing that will be over before you know it.

Trust me, I'm not trying to preach that you shouldn't let things make you nervous – I can be a huge ball of nervous energy at times, too. I just mean that being nervous can do a lot more damage than we think on ourselves.

When you're feeling nervous, you probably exhibit some anxious behavior. Maybe you shake your leg, pace, bite your nails, or have other physical ticks. Or maybe you deal with internalized signs when you're nervous, like isolating yourself, stomach aches and headaches, or dry mouth.

And then there are some of us that are the most vocal about our nervousness, and we snap at others who try to ask us what's wrong or we can't stop talking about why we're so nervous. There are a LOT of ways we show how anxious we are, but whether we're better at hiding these signs or not, there's even more going on under the surface when we get nervous.

Sure, there's a lot of mental activity going on when we get nervous, but there's a lot of physical things that happen to our bodies, as well – things that are a lot worse than having to get your nails redone because you bit all of yours off.

Feeling nervous can lead to things like a racing heart, sweating, skin issues and acne, and even getting so nervous that we totally space out if you let it control your life. It's obviously hard to not let ourselves get caught up in what's making us nervous, but we can definitely try.

I know for a fact that someone telling me to just stop thinking about it doesn't help, but meditation does. Doing breathing exercises, staying hydrated, eating healthy, getting enough rest, and staying on top of your stress levels are all ways to stop nervousness from getting so bad you can barely function.

And, of course, knowing exactly how you handle being nervous can help you recognize the signs before things get too out of hand. It IS possible to control your nervous energy better; it just takes time and practice!

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)

Feeling nervous for you, Aries is like a jolt of electricity to your nervous system... no pun intended. If you can't fix what is making you nervous right away, you tend to get frustrated or angry. Why isn't this as easy to control like everything else?!

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)

When you're nervous, Taurus, you have two speeds: You're either relaxed to the point of being catatonic, or you're so jittery that anxiety seems to exude off you in waves. In other words, nervousness can make you go from zero to 100 REAL quick.

Sometimes, you're so nervous that you can barely function. In fact, you can be SO nervous that you don't even act like you are because you're just so overwhelmed with the feeling. Other times, someone can walk into a room and just feel it on you. When you get nervous, it's a total mess.

Gemini, you tend to just tell people you're nervous (by literally saying "I'm nervous") because that seems like the most obvious way to handle it. Talking things out is easiest for you, but it often turns into serious word vomit. Once you start talking about it, you can't stop. At all.

Of course, you can certainly admit to being nervous, but you have no idea what to do about it. You can recognize what you're feeling when you feel it, but you'll also probably just shrug if someone asks you how you're going to deal with it. Who knows? You certainly don't.


CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Nervousness makes you overly sensitive, Cancer. It's all with good intentions (and you know it), but you'll still snap at someone just for asking you if you're okay. What can you say? You usually know how to deal with your emotions, but things like nervousness make you a little crazy.

When you're nervous, you tend to get all doom and gloom about it. You'll probably talk about how you'll never not be nervous again, even though you know that's not true. You're most likely to isolate yourself and have a pity party about it instead of just accepting it and moving on.

LEO (July 23 - August 22)

Leo, you exhibit the most dramatic and visible signs of nervousness of all the zodiac signs. You live for the drama, and this is especially true when you're not feeling like yourself. How else will people know you're feeling nervous, right?

You tend to bite your nails, shake your leg, and obsessively touch your hair. While these signs are all genuine, and you really are nervous about something, you still want others to notice you acting nervous, even if you refuse help for the sake of the drama and attention.


VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

Virgo, you tend to get seriously obsessive when you're feeling nervous. You tend to get into your head and never get out, overthinking things and generally making things worse for yourself. All you can think is, "Nervous, nervous, nervous," over and over.

In addition to overthinking, you also over-talk. You talk about what's making you nervous or just your nervousness in general until the end of time. You will definitely let your neurotic behavior control your thoughts and actions, but you never pause long enough to solve the problem.

Libra, you love when things are an easy fix (don't we all?), but we both know that life is never that easy. When you're nervous, you don't just get overwhelmed with everything going on. You also get overwhelmed with what you can do to make things better. It's just all TOO much.

There are so many ways for you to combat your nervousness that you end up just never doing anything about it. You're frozen by so many options that you end up praying that it'll just go away eventually. You're not the best at making decisions, even when you know you should.

Scorpio, you're either nervous about something or you're not – there's no in between. You either know how to handle a situation like a boss or you totally cave into your nervousness. It might look bad on the outside, but it's soooo much worse for you on the inside.
