Mac Miller was found dead at his home from an apparent overdose but some theories hint that he may have been killed.

The 26-year-old rapper had reportedly been "dead for hours" when police arrived at his San Fernando Valley residence Sept. 7 after his assistant made a frantic 911 call.

"Please hurry," he said over the phone following his discovery of an unresponsive Miller.

The "Self Care" rapper's official cause of death has not been released. Authorities are awaiting the results of a toxicology exam that could take up to six weeks but new evidence does not match up with an apparent overdose.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Miller's house had been virtually swept clean of any pill bottles, illegal substances, and drug paraphernalia. Only a trace amount of white powder was found on the entire premises, the sources gathered from evidence and speaking with witnesses.

Police seem to have settled on the idea that Miller, whose real name is Malcolm James McCormick, OD'd but TMZ's sources are not so sure. They questioned why someone who overdosed, whether it was accidental or intentional, would foresee the fatal consumption and get rid of any evidence if the outcome would most likely be death.

On top of that, the law enforcement sources told the outlet that no one had seen Miller alive since Thursday despite the fact that he had people over both Thursday and Friday. He was found dead Friday.

The mysterious person behind the blog "Crazy Days and Nights," which has a reputation for breaking celebrity gossip before it hits the papers, wrote that Miller was possibly murdered.

Fans are convinced Miller knew he was going to die. His latest album SWIMMING was released Sept. 3 and it may have foreshadowed his death. His song "Self Care" made the biggest splash.

Miller raps "like September I fall," which fans have dubbed a foreshadow of his own passing. In the music video, he is buried alive in a coffin. He carves the Latin phrase "Memento mori" into the wooden coffin, which means "remember that you must die."

Fans have also tied Miller's death — and his music video — to the death of rapper XXX Tentacion, who was shot and killed June 18, just weeks after the music video for "SADI" was filmed. In the video, X attends his own funeral. He later sees another version of himself in a coffin, which also gave way to conspiracy theories about his murder.

The official cause of Miller's death will be released by the L.A. County Coroner at the conclusion of toxicology tests.
