One of the biggest tragedies about 2017's cinematic flop, Suicide Squad, is that Margot Robbie's portrayal of one of Gotham's greatest bad guys, Harley Quinn, went largely unpraised. Sure, there were savvy folks like you and I who recognized her bada**ery and did everything we could to mimic her look or just rock it out right when Halloween came around.
But the truth of the matter is that Harley Quinn as a character existed long before Robbie came calling.
And there's always been something about her particularly unhinged, dorky, geek-tastic, and boy-obsessed persona that has captivated her fans for years and years, and surely will for years and years to come.

Harley Quinn was actually a creation of Batman the Animated Series and not of the comics at all, though she eventually made her way to those hallowed pages.
