Everyone has a drunk personality.

Everyone acts differently when they're drunk. Some of us are totally chill. All we want to do is grab a drink, catch up with friends, and maybe even play a drinking game.
Then there are those of us who drink to get wasted, and it usually ends with someone losing a shoe, getting into a fight, or throwing up in the back of an Uber. No matter what your zodiac sign is, you have a drunk personality.
The type of drunk you are, according to astrology, is based on how the personality of your zodiac sign. Think of being drunk as a way to amplify your personality.
So, for example, if you are someone who is usually really warm and friendly, you might be the type of drunk who can make friends with people while you're waiting in line for the bathroom. Or, it might be the exact opposite.
Say, for example, that you're usually a really shy person. But when you drink, you're chatty, adventurous, and loud. Alcohol is known for lowering your inhibitions, which is why it's often called "liquid courage."
Alcohol gives you the courage to talk to that person you've had a crush on forever, do something dangerous and slightly illegal, and get up in front of a ton of strangers and sing karaoke.
That said, alcohol doesn't always turn you into a completely different person. Sure, you might be shy, but there is also probably a part of you that wants to be more of a social butterfly.
And if some liquid courage is what it takes to strike up a conversation with someone or try something new, then that can be a good thing.
Alcohol does tend to make people more extroverted, but not so different that you could be considered an entirely different person when you're drunk. Whether you're just a little buzzed or black-out wasted, most of your personality is still very much you.
Of course, drinking too much alcohol can be dangerous in itself – and not just because it means you're more likely to eat something off the ground or walk around barefoot on public transportation – but drinking in moderation can make for a fun night out (or in) with your friends.
One of the best things about the drunk personalities of the zodiac signs is that each sign acts differently when they're drunk. Sure, there might be a handful of zodiac signs who are most likely to get emotional throughout the night or some who want to get crazy and make out with a stranger, but for the most part, each zodiac sign has a unique drunk personality.
Here is the type of drunk your zodiac sign becomes when you've had too many drinks, based on your horoscope sign date, per astrology.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries, you are the brutally honest drunk who tells it like it is. If your friend needs someone to tell her that drunkenly flirting with the bartender isn't going to get her free drinks, you're the one to do it. Or you'll be the one to fess up to the guy you've been flirting with all night that you're only doing it so he'll buy you shots.
You love to play games like Never Have I Ever when you're drunk because it's the best time for you to learn everyone's secrets and dish out a few hard truths of your own. You're not aggressive in the natural Aries way when you've been drinking, which can be a little pushy and assertive, but you're definitely aggressively honest.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus, when you're drunk you're loud and happy, plain and simple. You absolutely love to drink because it loosens you up and puts a smile on your face. When you drink, you do it around friends (and an audience) so that your good mood can rub off on everyone around you. It doesn't matter if you're at a house party or a bar, you're the one everyone can hear from across the room.
When you're drunk, you're most likely to focus on two objectives: making a lot of jokes and making at least one friend. And, of course, since everyone loves making friends when they're sloshed, all you have to do is compliment someone's shoes and crack a joke while you're waiting for the bathroom and you've already got a new drinking buddy for next weekend.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini, being drunk makes you the center of attention. Sure, you might be the center of attention because you're being a sloppy drunk, but at least all eyes are still on you, right?! When you drink, you want everyone around you to know that you're ready to party hard, so they better get on your level ASAP.
When you're at the perfect drunk level to capture an audience, you love to gather groups of people around for a maybe-not-true story. Like the time that you were locked out of your dorm room and had to climb into a window at 3 am. Or when you got into the VIP section of a nightclub (not true) and ended up barfing in your new shoes because you drank too much (true).
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer, you are the emotional drunk, but not just because you're the zodiac sign most likely to end up crying into your BFF's shoulder before the night is over. Just because you're emotional doesn't mean that crying is the only emotion you feel after a few drinks – crying is just the first part of it.
You might cry because your drunk self just dropped salsa on your shirt, but that isn't going to stop you from turning into a flirty little love machine in about an hour. Salsa on your shirt or not, you can be a very playful person when you're drunk. Your funny and aggressive sides might also come out in one night, but you can almost always bank on crying and making out with a stranger.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo, you’re the kind of zodiac sign that is most likely to pregame with drinks before you go out and drink. This is your time to let loose and have fun with your squad, so you’re going to make the most of the night out. Whether you’re already wasted or on your way there, you are the initiator of the group. You start drinking first and you keep making sure your squad drinks allll night.
On top of that, you’re also the kind of drunk person that wants to show off. That means letting your hair down, dancing on tables, and getting the party up in full swing. You’ll bring your favorite party playlist, show up in something sparkly and eye-catching, and even come bearing gifts – like Jell-O shots or a really good bottle of wine. Hey, if you’re planning on having fun, then everyone else better is, too.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo, you can be the mama bear at times, even when you’re drinking. Whether it’s because you have an innate sense of responsibility to look out for the people you care about, or you just don’t care to get wasted, even when you’re drunk, you’re still very aware of your surroundings. You know how to ensure your boyfriend doesn’t eat anything off the floor while keeping an eye on your BFF who is dangerously close to passing out.
Being drunk means you lose a bit of the control that means so much to you. You hate getting black-out drunk because it means you were totally out of control for at least a few hours. Sure, you like getting buzzed – and you’re certainly not a stick in the mud – but you don’t have to drink a ton of alcohol to have a good time. All you care about is just having fun with your friends (and being able to remember it the next day).
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra, you are another one of those zodiac signs that quickly become the life of the party when you’re drunk. You love living it up when you’re out with your squad, whether you’re going out to a nightclub or to your BFF’s place for a house party. It doesn’t matter where you drink, as long as you’re somewhere that has enough alcohol, good music, and cute people to flirt with.
Speaking of flirting, you are VERY flirty when you’re drunk. It might not lead to anything, but you like flirting because it’s fun and you’re good at it. Sometimes, you get free drinks from it at the bar, while other times it’s just a way for you to let off some steam. In addition to flirting, you’ll be the zodiac sign that drinks way too much and posts every drunk moment to social media throughout the night. Hey, someone has to document!
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Once you start drinking, Scorpio, you have a hard time shutting your mouth. A drunk Scorpio is one that you can from across a crowded room because they’re talking sooo loud. Even when you’re sitting right next to someone, you have a hard time keeping your voice down. It’s definitely due to the alcohol in your system, but it’s probably also because of the conversation you’re in the middle of.
Drinking brings out your controversial side – you absolutely love taking part in conversations about touchy topics when you drink because it gives you the bravery to speak your mind. Of course, this can also mean that your mood can turn sour, but that’s not always true. How you’ll act when you’re drunk (loud, angry, flirty, messy) all depends on how you’re feeling before you start drinking.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius, you don’t usually care what people think of you when you’re not drinking, and when you’re drunk, that doesn’t really change. Whenever your squad mentions a party or a night out, you are practically jumping for joy – you love doing fun things on the weekend (instead of just sitting around). Of course, you hate always doing the same thing, so you’ll be the friend to suggest something wild and different.
This can be anything from getting smashed and playing mini golf to doing drunken karaoke – you don’t care, you just want to have fun! And if you embarrass yourself in the process, no biggie; at least it makes for a funny story later. You’re the zodiac sign who will embarrass yourself just for the fun of it, as well as get the squad to try something new and risky.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn, you have wo gears when drinking: buzzed but not wasted and wasted. You’re not the kind of person to go out on a Friday night hoping to get blackout drunk, but you will black out if the situation is right. What constitutes the right situation to get way too drunk? If the place you’re at is serving top-shelf booze (like cognac or champagne) because you never say no to good quality alcohol. Usually, you don’t over-drink.
You know what your limits are and you tend to stay well within them. I mean, what’s the fun of going out if you drink too much to remember it, right? You still know how to have fun, but you won’t be trashed. And while you may even start a fight if someone cuts in front of you for the bathroom, you’re not sloppy about it. You drink juuust enough to be able to give someone a piece of your mind before going back to the party.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Your quirkiness comes out in full force when you’re drunk, Aquarius. You’ll most definitely embarrass yourself, but you also probably won’t care very much (at least, not until the next day). You’re the type of drunk who is usually hilarious and silly – the one always cracking jokes and trying to get people to laugh because being drunk is always more fun when your squad is smiling.
You are also the kind of person who tends to do everything with way too much exaggeration and gesturing when you’re drunk. You’ll probably knock someone’s drink out of their hand while telling a story with lots of hand motions, and you might make a bigger deal than you need to out of tripping and falling on your drunk butt walking home, but you’re just having too much fun to care how silly you’re acting.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Drinking gives you the liquid courage you need to let your guard down, Pisces. There’s something about being uninhibited that you love – you’re a lot more outgoing and assertive when you’re drunk. You’re also the type of person who will snuggle up to your friends and tell a stranger that you love them when you’re drunk. You’re a happy drunk who floats on Cloud 9 all night.
But all this happiness can come with a little sloppiness, too. You’re most likely the friend who needs a chaperone when you drink because no one is sure where you’ll end up if you’re not watched closely. You’re a little messy, too, but it’s only because you’re having such a good time. After sharing the love at the party, you love taking your drunk butt home for some takeout food and a movie until you fall asleep next to your BFF.
