He texted, “I miss you” and “I want you back.” These words can be touching, and dangerous. His message can signal that he has learned just how much he cares about you, or that he'd just rather not be alone.
We all hear the stories of the on-again-off-again couple, and nobody is aspiring to that, but it can be so easy to get caught up in that cycle. On the other hand, we’ve also heard of the lost loves and “could have beens.” It’s tormenting to wonder, more so that to just have a relationship fail.
So what are you to do when you get that text message from you ex that says, “I miss you”? Is that plea to take back your ex?
You could say you broke up for a reason, or you could say that reason was flawed, nothing but a giant mistake. Are you and your ex star-crossed lovers, or were you always meant to be?

Because of this you must make sure that your ex’s interest is sincere and less selfish. Is your potential partner able to put your needs first? Are they trying to control who you spend time with? These questions will help you determine whether or not this is an investment or a waste of time.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Inherent nervousness can be channeled for positive change in the Gemini’s life, or it can keep them from making a stand. Only if your ex comes back around with a plan to tackle what broke you up in the first place, not just desire, should you move forward with them.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Despite their many wonderful traits, Capricorns can be insufferably condescending—because of course they’re always right. Your ex shouldn’t be coming around telling you about your side of the breakup experience. Instead, they should be returning with openness to listen and empathy for your experiences. If they can provide that, it’s worth another shot.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Regardless of who initiated the breakup, level of commitment was likely part of the problem with your Aquarius sweetheart. If they come back around with a genuine demonstration of their dedication, for instance, proving they’ve found a therapist or a reasonable compromise for a long-standing problem, they’re truly yours this time.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Fanciful Pisces tend to fall in love with love. Take some time to evaluate whether your ex wants you or the honeymoon back.
