Did Miley and Liam break up? Say it ain't so!

The 25-year-old singer and 28-year-old actor have reportedly called it quits due to Miley’s reluctance to marry and have children, two things Liam was hoping would happen sooner rather than later. An unnamed source told OK! Australia, “He wants kids and doesn’t want to keep putting it off but it’s not quite the timeline Miley had in mind... he is left heartbroken.”

“Miley put off plans for the wedding and Liam was growing tired of it... They haven’t been getting along in recent months,” the source continued. “[Miley] didn’t really want to get married. It’s something that everyone else seemed to get but Liam.”

According to the source, Liam’s family members had tried to tell Liam that waiting around for Miley to be ready for marriage and kids wasn’t the right call. Despite this, the source says that Liam still trusted in Miley and their relationship. “[Liam’s] family had been begging him to see the light for a long time, but he had faith in Miley. Now he feels like an idiot,” the source said.

Miley recently deleted every post from her Instagram feed and turned her profile picture into a black circle in what some say is a response to her breakup with Liam. However, the posts she is tagged in by other users remain on her Instagram profile.

Meanwhile, Liam’s Instagram feed remains active and full of posts, including images of himself and Miley.

It seems that the couple’s plans had been diverging for a while now. Last year, Miley told The Sun that she wasn’t exactly ready to get married, despite a multi-year long engagement. “I don’t envision marriage. I’m 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do [before I get married],” Miley told The Sun.

This most recent development wouldn’t be the first time the couple has broken up, either. The couple, who met while filming The Last Song in 2009, has endured nearly ten years of ups and downs in their on-again, off-again relationship. The two got engaged in 2012 after dating for three years. Their engagement was then called off in 2014 when the couple broke up. They then got back together and resumed their engagement two years later.

After they reunited, both Liam and Miley revealed that the breakup was a chance for them to grow as individuals and reconnect as an even stronger couple.

In an interview with Billboard, Miley discussed why she felt that breakup was necessary. “I needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize you anymore.’ We had to refall for each other.”

Liam seemed to echo Miley’s sentiments. “Of course it was hard, man. But at the time we were going in different directions and it’s just what needed to happen. We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time – we both needed that,” Liam told The Mirror.

Though neither Miley nor Liam have commented on these most recent reports of their breakup, many heartbroken fans took to Twitter to share their reactions to the breakup news. “Miley and Liam split is the worst news ever,” one user wrote. “My heart just can’t take another Miley Cyrus and Liam [H]emsworth split,” wrote another.

Despite the rumors, Liam and Miley were reportedly spotted at the airport together on Thursday, July 19.
