No more 2018 Bonnie and Clyde.

Despite dubbing themselves the 2018 Bonnie and Clyde in their song “Him & I,” Halsey and G-Eazy broke up on July 3, 2018.
After dating for almost a year, Halsey announced the breakup on Instagram, writing, “I normally keep this kind of thing private but provided our public nature I feel the need to inform my fans. G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart.” She went on to tell fans that, though she wishes him the best, she plans on taking time to focus on her career.

Halsey did not specify the reason behind their split, and relationships are complicated so it’s likely there are ultimately a number of reasons why the two didn’t work out. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from trying to figure out the answer to one question: why did Halsey and G-Eazy break up?
G-Eazy has yet to release a statement of his own, leaving fans speculating about the true cause of their breakup, with many of them seemingly on Halsey’s side.
After the breakup announcement, Halsey appeared to stay strong on Instagram after deleting all pics of G-Eazy from her account and posting a photo of her and her dog with the caption, “kiss my dog on the forehead and then kiss ur ass goodbye.”
However, that doesn’t mean the breakup has been easy for Halsey. In her first musical appearance post-split, Halsey cried while singing a breakup song.
Here why fans thing Halsey and G-Eazy broke up.
1. G-Eazy didn’t treat Halsey right.
As many of us know all too well, you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Unfortunately for G-Eazy, it appears that’s the boat he’s in right now. A source close to the rapper told Hollywood Life, “G really messed up with Ashley, he took her for granted, and he knows he only has himself to blame for their break-up.” According to the source, G-Eazy feels he “got what he deserved in the end.”
2. G-Eazy might have a drug problem
G-Eazy’s rumored drug habit may also be to blame for their breakup. In their song “Him & I,” G-Eazy actually rapped about how he and Halsey allegedly “do drugs together.”

He further fueled the rumors in an interview after paparazzi caught Halsey seemingly snorting cocaine, telling the hosts of The Breakfast Club about the photo, “It’s New Year’s Day, it’s Miami, what do you think I’m doing?”
Then, in May 2018, cops in Sweden arrested G-Eazy for assault and cocaine possession. Sources told TMZ that the rapper began “acting belligerent” while at a club, eventually hitting a security guard in the face. Once police detained G-Eazy, they reportedly found cocaine on him.
3. Did G-Eazy cheat on Halsey?
According to some fans, Halsey’s cryptic social media posts after the breakup might hint that G-Eazy cheated on her. A day after revealing the breakup on Instagram, Halsey tweeted the scissor emoji (which has since been deleted). Fans immediately related the scissors to her and G-Eazy’s “Him & I” lyrics where G-Eazy raps, "Ever catch me cheating, she would try to cut my..." Halsey then tweeted “pumpkin eater,” which led many to believe she was referring to the nursery rhyme “cheater cheater pumpkin eater.”
This isn’t the first time G-Eazy’s been accused of cheating on Halsey. In June 2018, Daily Star published Snapchat screenshots that are allegedly from G-Eazy to another woman while he was with Halsey. The rapper compliments the woman’s body and asks for more photos and tells the woman the size of his penis.
