You might have even witnessed someone you knew was truly an honest person tell a lie when they didn't know for sure. Things looked kind of grim, but to keep everyone's spirits up, they focused on their hope instead of the current reality. The hope was more truth at that moment than a lie but that doesn't mean it was all wrong, did it?
We all have our reasons for what we say, what we don't, and why we lie. People lie to themselves way more often than they lie to other people. They tell themselves they want to go to work when they really would rather rush down to the beach. They tell themselves that they will hit the gym and then avoid it and go to the ice cream parlor instead.

The Honest Zodiac Signs
1. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
People under this zodiac sign are known for being very honest. Part of this comes from virtue, but a lot of it comes from vice. While the Aries is an exceptional leader, they are also known for being impulsive and aggressive. Still, you can rely on an Aries to tell you the truth no matter what. Just be ready for it.
2. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras value social interaction and fairness above all, and so they’re more likely than other horoscope signs to be diplomatic and honest. To them, brutality doesn’t have any place in honesty, but their discomfort with confrontation can cause them to procrastinate rather than diving into a touchy subject.
3. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Assertiveness and self-confidence enable Leos to be more honest than other zodiac signs. They can be prone to arrogance, so they will often assume they are right without double checking and have no problem loudly proclaiming whatever they think. Nonetheless, their overestimation makes their truth highly subjective.
4. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
This zodiac sign has a widely-recognized sense of humor. The thing is, just like stand-up comics, the Sagittarius lacks a filter. This makes them very honest, even if they don’t have much tact. There’s an exception to this rule though: like the Leo, the Sagittarius can overestimate their capability, although less in the sense of being right and more in the sense of making promises they can’t keep.
5. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Next, we have the trustworthy Taurus. People with this zodiac sign are very devoted, both to their loved ones and their pursuits. Therein lies the issue though: a Taurus will prioritize what they perceive as dependability over truthfulness—meaning they’ll likely fib about your outfit looking good, how much muscle you’ve gained, or how serious your mistakes are. There’s no problem accepting the kind sentiment from the Taurus, but take the words with a grain of salt.
6. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Generally speaking, Virgos are excellent communicators as long as they are given enough time to process. Their communication also tends to be honest, although it’s often not helpful. Virgos are intense perfectionists, and so they’re ready and willing to share their criticisms far more than their compliments.

7. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis are highly sociable, value expression beyond all but their variety of interests, and mostly mean what they say. Yet the twin sign is often of two minds and can be incredibly inconsistent. While a Gemini might say something and honestly believe it one moment, that might change the next moment. Just remember that this behavior isn’t purposefully dishonest.
8. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
The strategic and pragmatic Capricorn is honest as long as it serves their ambitions. If they so choose they can use their self-discipline to cultivate a habit of truthfulness, but they’re naturally workaholics and ladder climbers. Try to incentivize their honesty if the information you need is critical.
9. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Look, I’m not saying Scorpios are liars, but they are extremely secretive and may not come forward with information immediately. Ultimately this doesn’t stem from malice, but distrust. Sometimes the best way to find out what’s on Scorpio’s mind is to listen to what’s not being said.
10. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Why is Aquarius at the bottom of the list? Because they have a striking similarity to the Scorpio above: they aren’t always forthcoming. In the case of Aquarius though, it only applies to their emotions. Expressing vulnerability terrifies them, so they’re likely to just keep quiet.

11. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
The Pisces is the ultimate martyr. As with other zodiac signs, their flaws are often unintentional behaviors. People under this sign don’t mean to misrepresent anything, they just honestly feel victimized by the slightest inconvenience or perceived slight.
12. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Because of their remarkable emotional intuition and imaginations, Cancers are prone to being manipulative. They naturally have the skills for it, so it can even be unintentional. That said, they value their social circle and its members and will remain loyal to you, even if they insist on getting their way.
