"What an airhead!" This kind of remark is set aside for those whom we think of as perpetually living in a dream world — those of us with our heads in the clouds.
We can all agree that reality is a harsh place to live, and for some of us, especially the unrealistic zodiac signs who are detached from reality, we escape real life by creating our own little private getaway inside our minds. A horoscope can't always help bring us back, especially when astrology can reveal things to us that we don't want ot deal with.
The Buddhists say attachment is the route of all suffering, and it's true — attachment is what keeps us dependent and expecting; detachment allows us some slack. So, in order to detach from reality, we build our mind palaces and mental sanctuaries to escape into when times get exceptionally hard.
And for some, they don't wait around for "exceptionally hard." They just move on in as soon as any kind of conflict invades their personal space.
There are some of us who tend to detach from reality much better and more often than others. Our zodiac sign is a good place to start when we're looking for traits within us that might make us true airhead masters of detachment and reality-escape. Here are the top six unrealistic zodiac signs who are detached from reality.
1. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
This fire sign is such an escapist that you might not even realize they're completely NOT there, when they're with you. They are experts at tuning out the entire world — you included.
When Sag wants to detach, they also tend to be conscience-free, so the trick to their expertise is that they also do NOT care what you think of their tactics.
2. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
The original airhead, this sign brings us the most detached and aggressively "out the door" group there is; they simply cannot deal with reality and they refer to their mighty skills of escape as coping methods.
Aquarius would rather be considered "not present," even if they show up, because they don't want to answer to anyone.
3. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Not really into reality, they tire themselves out trying to balance their lives within it. Fortunately, they all learn sooner or later that life simply can't be balanced, so all good Librans take time to disappear, meaning they mentally leave the room and travel far and wide to places that please them, rather than living in stinky ol' reality.
4. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Oh, these people get so sick and tired of everyone and everything, yet they also find themselves stuck in situations where they simply cannot escape — like a marriage, for instance.
Taurus rebels by tossing themselves headlong into fantasy; in fantasy, they escape all reality, and end up healing themselves for it. Taurus knows where to turn when times get tough — they go inwards.
5. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Leave it to the fire signs to dominate the airhead theme, but this fire sign needs air to burn, and they burn best when they detach from the problems of the world. Aries consciously turns off what disturbs them, and once they catch on to anything that has the potential to take them down, they ignore it stealthily.
Aries does NOT want to feel pain, and to be successful at that, they detach from reality when it's convenient for them to do so.
6. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
This group likes a bit of denial in their lives, and they easily deny that anything around them is wrong, or off, or bad. Leo likes to pretend that everything is great, all day, all night.
So, to keep up that private facade, they create an escape hatch in their psyche that allows them complete fantasy and detachment. "No problems here" should be their motto. Putting out the fire signs with gasoline?
