While it may seem to come out of nowhere, even if you've consulted your horoscope, there are usually behavioral clues before you get ghosted or dumped. If you’re aware that he’s acting shady and that while on the surface he may seem like he’s completely into you, if you look closely at what he’s doing, you can know how to tell he's playing you.
How do you know the difference between when someone genuinely cares about you and when they’re totally full of sh*t? Sometimes the clues are right in front of us but we don’t want to see them because admitting the truth is too painful and we don’t realize that denying the truth only makes it doubly painful when it eventually comes out.
There are times when someone doesn't know that they’re being a jerk or that they just don’t care — they may have issues that they’re not dealing with. You’re probably not the only person they’ve ever taken advantage of or who they used for as long as it suited them.
You may try to rationalize their behavior or the reasons why you allow it. Perhaps the sex is fantastic, so you think that the fact that they’re such a dick is a small price to pay. But the thing is that it actually costs your self-esteem a great deal.
If you can see that someone is playing you, you’re in the power position and can either dump them before they do much damage or toy with them a bit to try and teach them a lesson. Being truthful and telling them that their behavior is unacceptable and that you love yourself too much to be treated in such a way is probably the healthier and more empowering choice.
Sometimes we need these painful lessons so that we avoid being treated so poorly in the future. Here’s how to tell he's playing you, based on his zodiac sign.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
His behavior is all over the map — one minute he seems completely into you and that next it is total silence. The truth is he's not considering your feelings and how his treatment of you is making you feel. If he needs something from you, he's there, but don't count on him (at all, ever) if you need anything from him. He will not be there for the long-term or if you need anything that he doesn't consider fun.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
He never, ever calls you by your name, even if it's around people who don't know. Sure, pet names can be endearing and it sounds sweet when he calls you "honey" but the reason he's doing it is because he's worried that he may call you the name of one of the other women that he's seeing. Or he may not want to expend the energy it takes to actually learn your name. Either way, it doesn't signal a long and healthy relationship.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
He's a very creative storyteller; unfortunately, he's storytelling affects your life as well. If his story changes from one telling to the next, it's more than likely that it's a lie — or at least a portion of it is — and he can't keep his story straight. He may be getting confused about what he told you with what he told someone else. It's pretty easy to trip him up if you want to catch him in one of his lies, so all you have to do is ask him about it at different times. Be sure to keep detailed notes.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
This guy may have the phrase "The best defense is a good offense" tattooed somewhere on his body because whenever you accuse him of something, he turns it back on you. When you try to trip him on a lie, he accuses you of the same thing and acts as if he's the victim. He believes that the guiltier you feel, the less likely you are to see how full of sh*t he truly is.

LEO (July 23 - August 22)
He's so full of himself that there's barely any air left in the room. If he's telling you about all his conquests, what makes you think that you're any different and that he's not bragging about bagging you to anyone who'll listen? He's too conceited to be able to be in a relationship with anybody but himself. You think he's changed, but he hasn't.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
He parrots your questions back to you. This is one of those player tricks where they say what you say and its benefits are twofold, it gives him time to think of a lie and it builds up a false intimacy. If he wanted to tell you the truth he wouldn't need extra time to think of an answer, and if he was being real with you, he wouldn't need to try any tricks to bond with you.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
This guy has his social charms down pat, but why won't he ever give you a straight answer and look you in the eye? The answer is that he's probably hiding something and as the eyes are the window to the soul, he's going to avoid locking eyes with you so that you'll remain unaware of his ulterior motives.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
There's chill and then there's completely indifferent to everything you do or say. If he were as into you as he claims, he'd want to know everything about you and the things that you do would affect him. He might not be a particularly jealous person but if you do something jealousy-provoking and he doesn't react at all, he just doesn't care. You're a placeholder until he finds someone he really likes.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
He never keeps his promises and his word means nothing. First of all, he shouldn't promise something that he has no intention of coming through with. If he says he's going to text or call you the next day, he should do it. It's not only rude, it's disrespectful. He's toying with your emotions by getting your hopes up and then causing them to come crashing down. Breaking every promise is a douche move.

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
He never plans any dates and he never pays. Sure, you understand that he's saving for a house or a better car but if he can't pay for a picnic in the park or two tickets to the movies, it's because he's too cheap to really care about you. You're an independent woman and can pay for yourself but he's not even making the slightest attempt to pick up the check.The fact that he's ungenerous with his time and can't even make an effort to come up with a plan for a date shows that he's just biding his time until someone more suitable comes along.

He says that you're crazy when you confront him on some of his crap behavior and tries to put everything on you. This isn't just a-hole behavior, it's mean, manipulative, and emotional abuse. You don't need someone like this in your life, so you need to get him the hell out of your life because he's only going to get worse as time goes on.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
He doles out details like he's passing out money. When someone holds back bits and pieces of their stories, it's not a mistake, it's their intention. He may not be lying but he's implying. He wants you to make the logical jump in a story so that he isn't actually lying. He has an active imagination which he can use as he cons you into thinking that you mean something to him and that he's being upfront and honest with you.
