People Who Seem To Come Out Ahead No Matter What Usually Have 7 Helpful Habits
PeopleImages / Shutterstock Some people just seem to have life figured out. They never fail to land on their feet, finding opportunities where others only see a dead end. Are they secretly lucky, or do they know something the rest of us don't?
As it turns out, the tiniest habits can make all the difference. When someone tends to win at life, their everyday choices might be worth noticing.
7 helpful habits people who always seem to come out ahead usually have
1. They look for opportunities

People who somehow make sure everything works out are constantly looking to see what they can do to make the most of the situation they're in. A missed opportunity might lead them to try something new, while an unexpected change could open a door they hadn't even considered.
They think pretending everything is sunshine and rainbows all the time is pointless, and they know that complaining about a problem won't make it disappear. In their eyes, the only option is to keep searching for their next move.
2. They know when to walk away
When someone appears to have the universe on their side, they've usually decided exactly what deserves their time and energy. They can recognize when a job or friendship isn't giving them much in return, so they simply stop investing in it. Even when they've already put a lot of effort into something or someone, they don't waste time sticking around if it no longer serves them.
Walking away isn't necessarily easy, especially when there's still hope that things might change. But holding on too tightly can keep these types of people from discovering something better.
3. They build relationships with the right people
People who tend to thrive know the value of having a few good people in their corner. They make an effort to build relationships with friends who encourage them and genuinely want to see them do well.
They're also willing to be that person for others. They offer help and show up whenever they can. Little gestures like that create connections that can really boost them up in every aspect of life.
4. They stay calm

People who handle life better than most don't let something going wrong bother them. They give themselves a moment to breathe before reacting, which helps them think clearly instead of making a messy situation even messier. Focusing on what needs to happen next prevents frustration from taking over and clouding their mind.
They still get annoyed like everyone else, but they don't let one bad moment ruin their whole day. Panicking rarely makes anything better, so they try to keep things in perspective.
5. They take responsibility for their mistakes
Someone who always bounces back isn't afraid to admit when they've made a mistake. They own their part and think about what they could have done differently. While it's not fun or easy to take responsibility, trying to be right all the time can create even bigger problems.
They're smart enough to treat mistakes as useful feedback that they can carry into the future. Maybe they handled a conversation poorly or made a decision that didn't pan out quite right. All they can do is take the lesson and move on.
6. They make the most of what they have
Some people look for the silver lining no matter what is happening in their life. That means they're good at working with what's already in front of them. They might learn a new skill using free resources, or find a way to solve a problem without spending a fortune.
Instead of comparing their lives to people who have more than they do, they shift their attention to the many wonderful things they do have. They know the best way to get somewhere new is to get creative with what they've got.
7. They stay consistent

Progress doesn't happen overnight, and people who never seem to lose have realized that. They show up over and over again, even when they don't see exciting results right away. They don't need each day to be incredibly productive to feel like they're moving in the right direction.
They also don't wait around for motivation to magically strike them. Some days, they feel inspired, and other days, they'd prefer to stay on the couch. But they do what they can anyway, knowing that a little progress is better than giving up completely.
