People Who Always Seem To Make You Feel Like A Million Bucks Have 7 Increasingly Rare Traits
filipefrazao | Canva In an era of non-stop wealth-flaunting and a million different filters and editing apps to make people look better, it's becoming harder to feel good about yourself. Thankfully, you probably have that one person who always makes you feel like a million bucks.
These people are walking angels. They lift others up without batting an eye. But unlike those who do it for approval, these folks do it because it comes naturally to them due to a few special traits.
7 rare traits of people who always seem to make you feel like a million bucks
1. They're genuinely kind

If you look at the comments on pretty much any social media post, it's easy to feel like kindness has gone right out the window. Hate comments and think pieces are pretty much tearing society apart and, sadly, this sometimes extends to how people treat each other in real life, too. That's why it's rare to meet someone who genuinely is a kind soul.
They aren't only thinking about themselves. While they tend to their own needs, they also care about everyone around them. That's why they uplift others. It doesn't just make them feel good. It is psychologically and physically beneficial.
When you're around them, they don't flatter you, they simply share an authentic kindness. You can feel how real it is, which is why their kindness reaches so deep into your heart.
2. They're considerate

People who uplift others aren't just sweethearts, they're considerate. That sounds like a bland platitude, but it really means that they consider how their actions and words affect others before they actually do or say something.
They don't just live life by their own rules. Every step they take, they think about ways to show you they care. That's why they do sweet things without it seeming fake or manipulative at all.
Sure, making you coffee every day doesn't seem like much. But as people become less thoughtful and generous, doing the small things with you in mind is a rare trait. Unlike others, they don't need to be taught how to care. They're naturally hardwired to consider your needs.
3. They are emotionally open and generous

People who uplift others aren't going to cut you off when you're having an emotional conversation or when you need to vent. Because they are so authentically engaged, they leave you feeling loved and supported.
They listen carefully, process what they hear you saying, and are generous with emotional validation. They don't use silent treatment or withhold affection or care to manipulate others.
While this sort of generosity shouldn't be rare, it is. Over the past couple of decades, research shows our attention span is shrinking, and that includes attention for other people's feelings.
That's why you should never let go of someone who's emotionally generous. They're one in a million and they make you feel that way, too.
4. They are authentically humble

Flexing culture has gotten out of control. Everywhere you scroll, there's someone on social media showing off a thousand-dollar haul, wildly expensive designer handbag or their sports car. They brag about vacations and even how many friends they have.
And while there's nothing wrong with having nice things or lots of friends, people who are authentically humble feel zero need to flex. It's a charming trait, but it goes much deeper than that. They don't want to make anyone else feel inadequate.
In a fake world, humility feels like a breath of fresh air. They enjoy what they have but want you to feel good about your life, too. No wonder you walk away feeling like a million bucks after a day with this rare person!
5. They're patient

You know what it's like talking to someone who looks over your shoulder, as if there's something way better they can't wait to get to, if you'd just stop yapping. It's awful. Even if it doesn't affect your self-esteem, it's annoying.
The people who make you feel authentically good about yourself are just the opposite. They aren't rushing you to finish your sentence or telling you to hurry up. They understand that connection can take a little time, and they're willing to show up and be patient.
They believe in the philosophy, "Treat others the way you'd want to be treated." Even when they're frustrated, they don't let it control how they talk to others. Instead, they control their emotions and choose to be understanding. In their eyes, they'd rather be patient than make you feel like you don't matter.
6. They're open-minded

Many people think they're open-minded, but their actions show it isn't actually true. Being right, for too many people, is more important than maintaining a deep connection with others.
According to UConn Today, "The desire to be right combined with the brain’s protective mechanisms make it that much harder to change opinions and beliefs, even in the presence of new information" and emotionally intelligent people know this. They don't waste their time on petty grievances.
They're open to changing their mind, but they don't want to spend a lot of time bickering. They want to connect with you and understand where you're coming from and will listen as long as you're on the same level. As long as they're connected with you, they'll push their ego aside to give your perspective a chance. That type of respect can really make you feel like a million bucks.
7. They're reliable

People struggle with being reliable these days. There's just so much going on, so many distractions. They commit, but often cancel at the last minute. They're nowhere to be found when you need help or support. It's bad behavior, but it can explain why people feel so alone these days.
If you have someone in your life who makes you feel like a million bucks, you know what it looks like for someone to be reliable.
They're always there for you. If they can't show up, they tell you in advance instead of saying yes and cancelling later. They care way too much to leave you stranded. They don't even need to say much to make you feel loved and supported, their steady presence says it all.
