Being a star means living a life of glamour, fame, wealth and endless other perks. Being a part of a famous family, like the Kardashians, means even more glamour, even more fame, and even more wealth. But being famous isn't all luxury vacations and pricey cars. There's a dark side to fame.

Kendall Jenner is learning that herself first hand. TMZ broke the news that Kendall's long-time stalker, a Canadian man named John Ford, has been arrested and will be deported for his crimes. Here's what you need to know about John Ford and what the future has in store for him now. Who is John Ford?

1. Deported

Kendall Jenner might be rich and famous, but that doesn't mean her life is a bed of roses at all times. Her latest stalker woes are proof of just that. The police have recently confirmed that her stalker, John Ford, has been deported back to Canada after the conclusion of hearing involving his behavior surrounding Kendall held in El Paso, Texas.

2. The Crimes

John Ford is a 38-year-old man who has long been (presumably) obsessed with Kendall and following her every single move. While there are definitely cases of extreme fans out there, that's normally limited to stuff like getting ill-placed tattoos of their names or worse still their faces. (Seriously though, what has to go wrong in your life for you to tattoo your face?) But let's be clear, John isn't a fan: he's a stalker and he's dangerous. Just this year alone, John was found outside of Kendall's home twice. What he was doing there is anybody's guess, but it certainly wasn't good. A person who engages in stalking behavior isn't hoping to genuinely befriend their victim, all they are interested in is feeding their obsession and that can sometimes lead to violence and even sometimes death.

3. ICE

Believe it or not, it was actually ICE agents who arrested John when they finally located him in New Mexico in the month of March. While lately ICE is usually associated with deporting Mexican immigrants from the United States, that's not the be all and end all that they do. See, sometimes they actually do GOOD stuff, like stop stalkers. For Kendall Jenner at least. According to ICE, John wasn't in the country legally, as he was traveling on expired visitor visa. A spokesperson for ICE made a statement following the arrest saying to TMZ that they:  "very well have prevented a violent crime. Our special agents acted quickly on this tip to ensure that this obsessive behavior didn't escalate to become a tragedy."

4. What He Did

When John Ford first tried to make contact with Kendall Jenner it was by scaling a wall outside of her home and gaining access to her pool area. He was promptly caught and arrested, however he wasn't swayed from his pursuit of Kendall for very long. As soon as he was released from custody he made a second attempt to gain access to Kendall and her home. While simply scaling a wall and trying to get into someone's yard might not sound like anything super serious, stalking is not a benign thing. The fact that he could do this to someone as famous as Kendall and still manage to evade the police and do to AGAIN makes it clear that stalking in this country needs to be taken much more seriously.

5. Others

Sadly, the Kardashian women and their associates are no strangers to the terrors of stalking. Other members of the family have had their own issues with unwanted obsessive behavior. Hopefully they can help Kendall cope with the emotional fallout that comes from feeling like your every single move is being followed by unseen eyes.

Notably, in 2014, Kim Kardashian had a stalker who drove to her home from Arizona. He waited outside of her residence and told Kris Jenner that he was Kim's boyfriend and that she had invited him to the home. Thankfully, this was another case where the police were able to quickly apprehend the man. In this instance, he was not able to make a second attempt.
