Why Every Grumpy Guy Needs A Sunshine Girl

Everyone knows the “sunshine girl.” The person who is filled with energy, always smiling, wants to be friends with everyone, and is a ray of sunshine. She brings the light wherever she goes.

Then you have the “grumpy guy.” The one who’s always walking around with a frown. It seems like he’s always glaring and never wants to talk.

You might think these two would never pair well. One’s a positive ray of light bouncing off the walls, while the other is a grouch who simply wants to be alone.

But let me tell you, this duo is the perfect pair and I’m here to show you why.

My favorite example of this is Flynn Rider and Rapunzel.

You have Rapunzel, who is this beam of light (literally!) and Flynn, who is this criminal with a sarcastic sense of humor. He doesn’t put up with any BS to entertain anyone. He has a hard shell and doesn’t seem to let people in.

That is until he meets Rapunzel.

Flynn meets this ray of sunshine with bright eyes and so much personality. Something in him changes. His demeanor changes and we see him fall for Rapunzel by the end of the film.

Sunshine girls do something to these grumps.

Since I am a sunshine girl, I wanted to explain it more.

I’m pretty good at reading people. Before I get to know someone, I can usually tell the type of person they are. I see past the acts they put on for the rest of the world, and I try to see them for who they are.

Usually, it’s a lot different than what you might expect, and that’s why I give this type of person a chance.

Girls who are like rays of sunshine see past the “I hate the world” act that guys display. We see the kindness, sensitivity, and softness they try to hide from the world (we see right through it).

And we find a way to break through. We see past the act and find out the type of person you truly are. We’ll break through to you.

As soon as we see your usual frown turn into a smile, you’re done. Get used to smiling a whole lot more. Because that sunshine girl is going to do everything in her power to put a smile on your face.

The fact that she figured out how to do it is huge. It’s like she solved a puzzle that everyone else was missing the last piece to.

So now we’ll do everything we can to get you to smile, let your guard down, and find ways to be more yourself around us.

And you’ll start noticing that you’re smiling more when you talk to us or hear our names. You’ll find yourself in a better mood when you get the opportunity to see us, and that grumpy demeanor will start to subside as you see life through our eyes.

So, to the grumps out there. If you find a girl that is filled with pure sunshine, use everything in your power to keep her around.

You may roll your eyes at us when we yell at you to smile, but face it, we like seeing you happy. And we want to continue seeing it, especially if we’re the reason why you have one on your face.

The whole grumpy and sunshine trope may seem like polar opposites, but I promise you, at the end of the day, it’s the best duo you’ll find.
