The speculation that Dawson might be bisexual first began in 2018, when she shared a video on Instagram in honor of the Pride celebration, along with a caption that seemed to hint she was part of that community.

'Happy pride month! Sending love to my fellow LGBTQ+ homies. Keep being strong in the face of adversity. Loud & proud," she wrote. You can check out the whole post above.

2. But is Rosario Dawson bisexual? She officially came out in a new interview.

Now, nearly two years later, Dawson has opened up in a recent interview, confirming that she is "coming out" for the first time. She didn't use the word "bisexual," but it seemed that was what she was implying — and at the same time, she admitted that she has never been in a relationship with a woman.

“People kept saying that I [came out]... I didn’t do that,” she said. “I mean, it’s not inaccurate, but I never did come out come out. I mean, I guess I am now. I’ve never had a relationship in that space, so it’s never felt like an authentic calling to me.”

3. She's also supported LGBTQ rights in the past.

In 2017, Dawson took to Instagram to support the LGBTQIA Day of Silence in a video she shared of herself looking at the camera without speaking in order to draw awareness to bullying that goes on in schools against kids who belong to the LGBTQ population. At the time, she didn't clarify what that meant to her personally, but did seem to want to support the cause.

Dawson and senator Cory Booker started dating in 2018, and now, they're still going strong. In fact, in the same interview, she opened up about their relationship, and what dating someone in politics has been like for her — and how it's affected her 17-year-old daughter, Isabella.

“It’s the first time I felt like I had to be responsible about my choice of love, which is a challenging thing to do,” she said. “If you fall in love, you fall in love. But there’s another aspect I had to consider: what this meant in [putting] a microscope on my family and particularly on my daughter. But in each other I think we found our person."

5. Fans are cheering Dawson on.

The reaction to Dawson coming out has been a largely positive one; on Twitter, fans certainly seem to be cheering her on.

"Okay but Rosario Dawson coming out as LGBT......... best day of my life I think," one fan wrote, while another tweet said, "cannot believe rosario dawson came out........ if God hates gays why do we keep winning."

6. Dawson hasn't shared anything further about her sexuality.

So far, it seems like Dawson is letting the interview speak for itself. Obviously, it's totally up to her whether or not she decides to expand on what she already shared, but not only has she opened up about her sexuality, it also seems like she's in a really fulfilling relationship, too. We're happy for her.
