Did Lara Flynn Boyle Have Plastic Surgery? Check Out These Before & After Photos

Actress Lara Flynn Boyle looks pretty different these days, which has prompted much speculation about whether or not she might have gone under the knife. At 49, Boyle's face has been looking a bit stretched with potential fillers in her lips.

This, of course, isn't the first time there's been people wondering if Boyle has had plastic surgery. She's actually been the target for plastic surgery rumors for many years now.

Admittedly, Boyle's face does look different, but also at the same time, it doesn't — she just looks older. She's a smoker, too, which has the potential to take a toll on your face and skin as decades roll by.

Boyle isn't a staple on the red carpet these days. She's not the 20-something ingenue she was in the 1990s. People change and not always for the better.

But, still the rumors have persisted, so let's address them. Did Lara Flynn Boyle have plastic surgery? And what is the actress up to these days?

1. Did Lara Flynn Boyle have plastic surgery? She was recently photographed looking "unrecognizable."

In October 2019, the Twin Peaks star was photographed at a car wash looking what was deemed as "unrecognizable." She was described as looking "frumpy" and that her face appeared "melted, blotched, and bloated."

Boyle is famously reclusive and has eschewed the public eye for decades.

2. The plastic surgery rumors started many years ago.

A simple Google search reveals the internet is obsessed with whether or not Boyle has had plastic surgery — and has been for a very long time. In fact, rumors date back to almost 10 years ago when plastic surgeon Paul S. Nassif started to speculate in 2010 that Boyle may have undergone multiple surgeries including a nose job, lip augmentation, Botox, facial fillers, and possibly even a browlift and facelift.

Radar reported on it in 2017 and then again in 2019. Life & Style thought she went under the knife in 2018The Daily Mail was sure she had work done in 2014. Inquisitor talked about her changed face in 2015. E! thought she had done it in 2013.

3. Boyle came from humble beginnings.

Boyle was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1970. Her mother, Sally Boyle, was a 21-year-old single mom who worked three jobs to support them while she was growing up.

Boyle and her mom developed a strong bond, due to their life circumstances that has continued to this day. On the day after she graduated from high school, they packed up their lives, got in the car, and headed for Los Angeles so Boyle could pursue an acting career.

Boyle and her mom lived together for many, many years after she had made it in Hollywood. These days, they live 10 minutes away from each other and Sally is Boyle's assistant.

4. In the 1980s, her career took off.

It was 1988 when Boyle and her mother moved to Hollywood. Lara started booking roles immediately.

She was in 1988's Poltergeist III, 1989's The Preppie Murders, and a number of other TV movies and films. Then, in 1990, she was cast in Twin Peaks as Donna Hayward. The show only lasted for 30 episodes, but earned its spot in pop culture and became a cult classic.

5. In the 90s, she rose to superstardom.

After Twin Peaks, Boyle appeared in Wayne's World in 1992. Between 1991 and 1999, Boyle appeared in 22 movies, television movies, or TV series.

Boyle auditioned for the role of Ally McBeal in David E. Kelley's show of the same name. Even though Calista Flockhart ultimately booked the role, Boyle impressed Kelley so much, he created the character of Assistant District Attorney Helen Gamble in The Practice for her.

6. What's she been up to lately?

Boyle had a few high-profile relationships in the 1990s with Kyle MacLachlan, David Spade, and Jack Nicholson. She's been married twice. She married John Patrick Dee III in 1996 and divorced him in 1998. She married real estate investor Donald Ray Thomas II in 2006; they're still married today.

She does not have children. Her latest acting credit is in 2015's Lucky Dog. In 2019, it was announced that Boyle will star alongside Bruce Dern and Ronnie Blevins in the drama Death in Texas
