2. Stokke went viral at age 17 for pole vaulting.

According to Sports Retriever, Stokke went viral seemingly overnight after a photo of her pole vaulting for her high school team was posted on the Internet. At the time, she was only a high school senior and was unaware the photo was even being taken. The picture, however, threatened her career when it was shared on an adult site which grossly captioned the shot, "Pole Vaulting is Sexy — Barely Legal".

According to Heavy, when Stokke enrolled in the University of California, the college shared her photo on their website and were bombarded with requests from men for autographs from Stokke, so they took the photo down.

3. She suffered from a severe sporting injury in 2005.

In 2005, during a practice session, disaster struck when Stokke was unable to get a high enough jump to reach the landing pad, causing her to land awkwardly on a concrete box, according to Tiebreaker. Stokke broke the tibia in her right ankle which required surgery, preventing her from competing for the rest of the season. Ouch.

4. Stokke and Fowler were engaged for a year before their wedding.

According to Fowler's Instagram, the beach is a very significant place for this couple because Fowler proposed to Stokke on the beach in June of last year.

Fowler wrote of his engagement on Instagram: "Today is National Best Friend Day so I wanted to lock mine down…I WON!!"

5. She broke records for pole vaulting in high school.

Stokke came in hot when she first began pole vaulting. In 2004 — and at just age 15 — “Allison recorded a vault of 3.86 meters (12 feet, 7 ¾ inches), which broke the American record for high school freshmen,” according to Tiebreaker. This marked the beginning of Stokke's career as a professional pole vaulter.

6. The wedding allegedly took place in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Although the wedding ceremony was private, Fowler shared a picture of himself on a private plane with the caption “LA -> Cabo” and thus, many have speculated that the wedding took place in Cabos San Lucas, Mexico. The beach backdrop would make sense!
