Singleness isn't always a curse.

Not everyone is made for a committed relationship with another human being. It's not a bad thing, especially when a person is committed to their work.
For example, how hard would it have been for Mother Teresa to serve the poor in Calcutta if she had a husband waiting for her at home?
Her personality and strong conviction to support the weak in need would make her commit to her own family vs. strangers in a land that she wasn't even from.
There are individuals who married and their relationship suffered because their time away from family made it impossible to stay in a tight emotional bond with their partner.
Mahatma Gandhi, the man who freed India, is said to have lost his relationship to his son, and he had a strained one with his wife. I imagine it would be hard to be a good husband if you're always out playing power politics.
Even though the word 'single' itself sounds terrible because it implies solitude, there's good that comes out being free to focus on other things.
Being in a relationship, but it can also come with a lot of pressure and expectation, and when you've got a dream that requires extreme focus, sometimes there's more power in flying solo then teaming up as a power couple.
It's important to be honest about your feelings with who you’re dating and, more importantly, with yourself.
Some of us are our best selves in relationships – we’re outgoing, happy, and we love to be in love.
Others prefer to be single or, whether they choose the single life themselves or not, should probably just not date at all. There are a variety of reasons why deciding to stay single forever (or at least for a long time) is a good idea for some of the zodiac signs.
Personally, I like being single because I find that I’m much more attentive to my needs and wants than when I’m in a relationship – where I tend to put my S.O. first. While I like being in a relationship too, I think that there are positives to both ways of living.
Some zodiac signs can only ever see themselves in a relationship – and often will jump right into something casual after a breakup just so that they don’t have to be alone. Other zodiac signs prefer to be single because they just enjoy it more.
But whether you are the kind of person who has to be in a relationship all the time, or you tend to jump from casual relationship to casual relationship, there may be a point in your life when you might have to consider just being single for good.
Maybe you’re just not ready to settle down with someone. Or maybe you’re constantly dealing with red flags in your relationships.
Whatever you’re dealing with, don’t listen to the stereotype that all single people are miserable or are just people who can’t find anyone to date them.
Learning how to be happy as a single person is an important part of life that can help you grow as a person and learn more about your emotional needs.
It may take time for you to get used to being single, but there are a lot of good things that can come of it. If you’re on the fence about whether the single life is a good idea or not, let this enlighten you a bit.
Here is how to know when it’s time to stay single for good, according to astrology.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
There’s a difference between enjoying being in a relationship over being single and feeling like there’s no other way to live life than to be in a relationship all the time.
For you, Aries, it seems to be the latter. There’s nothing wrong with preferring to be in a relationship, but you need to find comfort in being alone, too.
You’ll know it’s time to stay single for good when you realize that you’re scared to be alone. People bring you energy and life, but what is it about being in a relationship that’s different from surrounding yourself with friends?
Consider staying single to figure out what exactly is so daunting about being single.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
When you make decisions, Taurus, you tend to stick to them with conviction. Not only are you stubborn in what you believe, but you’re stubborn when it comes to your relationships, too… sometimes, to a fault.
When you start to overthink the little things in your relationship, you start to realize that it’s not nearly as perfect as you once thought.
You should consider staying single if you find yourself not trusting your own decisions. Stability is part of your nature.
If you begin wavering on and questioning things, like the people you’ve been dating or how you go about your relationships, it could be a good time to take an extended break to hit the reset button and learn how to trust yourself again.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
You’ve always been one to seek out casual hook-ups with no strings attached over serious relationships, Gemini, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that you’re always bouncing from one relationship to the next.
At this point, unless you’re totally infatuated with someone, you really just like being around people who excite you and give you attention.
That said, you should consider staying single if each new partner seems to blur into the next. If you find you’re just looking for a warm body – and not a personality, emotional connection, or a real person attached to that body – it’s probably better to try living the single life for a while.
That way, you can give yourself a chance to discover what’s most important to you in a partner.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
While there’s nothing wrong with consistency and liking what you like, when it comes to dating, choosing the same personality or type of partner over and over can actually do more harm than good for you.
Consider taking a break from dating if you feel like you’re stuck in a loop – one that includes you making the same relationship mistakes again and again.
For you, Cancer, it can be hard to take risks in the name of love, but it can also be very rewarding. Imagine getting out of that never-ending loop and finding something you never knew could exist for you?
The only way for that to happen is to stay single to avoid falling into the same trap and gain some much-needed perspective.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
If you’re actively looking for someone new to date, Leo, then you know how much work it is to make that happen. Whether you go out with friends to scope things out or online dating is more your speed, you know just how exhausting the dating scene can be.
I mean, you gotta put your best foot forward all the time, dress to the nines, and keep up constant communication to keep them interested.
Consider staying single if the dating scene really is exhausting you. Nothing good can come from doing something that once made you feel good to something that now feels like a chore. It’s better to regroup and start dating yourself for a while – at least until you recover fully.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Once upon a time, Virgo, you had a great relationship that you were very proud of. Unfortunately, that relationship ended and you found yourself back in the dating game.
While it can be fun to date new people, it’s also a lot of work to look for someone new – rather than look for your ex in someone else.
It’s a lot better to stay single if you’re just going to compare everyone you meet to the last person you had a real connection with.
There IS someone out there that’s perfect for you, but right now, it all feels clouded and muddy in your mind. Take a break from the judging and comparing and embrace the single life.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
One thing you absolutely want in life, Libra, is a grand love and a relationship with The One. You want this so bad, in fact, that you are willing to settle for anyone who has even a third of what you’re looking for in a partner.
When you realize that this person isn’t everything you hoped, you dive right back into the dating game without a second thought.
While this determination to find The One is admirable, it’s also foolish. Your perfect person IS out there, but dating one right after the other, or even settling for a subpar relationship just to find a shred of happiness, isn’t the way to go about it.
It’s a better idea to embrace the single life and care for yourself instead. One day, you will find that perfect person.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
One of the best ways to avoid hard truths and the parts of yourself you’re not entirely happy with is to date someone who will simultaneously make you feel loved and happy (good) and force you to put your relationship first (not good).
While it’s okay to put your relationship first at times, it’s also healthy to be selfish at times, too. Take an extended break from the dating game to work on yourself, Scorpio.
Put your own needs first, learn to love yourself and all your flaws, and give yourself time to figure out what you want from a real relationship.
The person you’re meant to be with is out there, and just because you’re taking a break doesn’t mean they are going to disappear. Be patient.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius, you are another zodiac sign that prefers casual relationships over labels and seriousness… but there are times when you date hoping to find someone you can really connect with on a deeper level.
Whatever your mindset is when you’re dating someone new, there are times when it’s better to just stay single.
One of the main reasons you need to be single is because single life is just more fun. No obligations, no attachments – just fun.
The other reason you need to be single? Relationships scare you. Letting yourself be vulnerable, open up to someone, and even risk heartbreak is something you’re not ready to dive into just yet – and that’s fine!
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
If there’s one thing you never do, Capricorn, it’s rush into things. So, when it comes to relationships, you like to take your time and really let the relationship develop over time, rather than try to hit as many milestones as possible in a short amount of time.
You also prefer to stay single if you’re just not meeting the right people.
Sounds simple, but when you’ve got people around you trying to dictate your life, it can be hard to keep your cool. You need to stay single if you feel like you’re being pressured to date.
You know what’s best for you, so don’t let friends and family try to tell you otherwise. You’ll find someone you care about, but right now, just focus on you.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
One thing that terrifies you the most about relationships and dating, Aquarius, is losing your true identity. You can’t think of anything worse than not being authentically yourself, no matter who you’re dating or not dating.
If it starts to feel like you’re defining who you are by what your partner likes and living life as part of a couple, it’s probably a good idea to stay single until you can rediscover your identity.
You of all zodiac signs prefer the single life, but when you're in a relationship, you tend to get really serious, really fast.
Take the time you're single to think about what's most important to you as a person, rather than throwing everything that makes you, you away just for love.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Dating someone new just to get over someone old is a recipe for disaster in any situation, Pisces.
It might seem like a good idea, but if you're still thinking about your last relationship while dating someone new, you’re not moving on.
You’re just rebounding. New relationships should be new experiences, not something tied to your last partnership.
Stay single so that you can deal with any lingering feelings you might be having from your last relationship.
Learn how to live with yourself and heal from any heartbreak or hang-ups you may be holding onto.
There’s nothing wrong or shameful about being single, Pisces, but it’s up to you to understand that through firsthand experience.
