A drunken teenager is arrested for public intoxication. In court, the judge tells her, “You’ve been brought here for drinking.” She replies, “All right, your honor. Let’s get started.”

Okay, that’s not really how it went. When Paige Drummond, 19, daughter of “The Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond, was arrested for public intoxication in April, she just paid $400 in fines and had her record was expunged and the charges dropped.

So, who is this woman? Who is Ree Drummond's daughter?

1. She’s the daughter of “The Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond.

Her father is Ladd Drummond, and she has a sister, Alex, and two brothers, Bryce and Todd. Interestingly, all of them were homeschooled. The family lives on a secluded ranch near Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Ree became a household name in 2011 after her cooking blog, The Pioneer Woman, was turned into television show on the Food Network. In 2012, Ree and Ladd's love story, which appeared on The Pioneer Woman's blog, was published as a novel.

2. She’s a sophomore at the University of Arkansas.

She began attending college in August of 2018. In an adorable post by her mother on @thepioneerwoman Instagram page, Ree captioned a photo of her and Paige hugging, “Red nose, trembling chin, tight throat, aching heart. Leaving your child at college is no picnic. I’ve done it once before and thought maybe this time would be a little easier. I think it’s a little harder. Through all the tears, I see this clearly: What a joy it is to usher her into the next stage of her life. Paige, I’m so grateful to be your mom.”

In an equally heartfelt blog post from back in 2016, Ree wrote, “I’m in that stage right now where I assume Paige will always be here. I made that mistake with Alex—never really thinking about the fact that she was going to college until the middle of her junior year, when it hit me like a ton of bricks that this child I gave birth to just a few years earlier was going to be leaving home.”

3. She’s straight and taken. Sorry, boys and girls.

She’s dating a cutie named Matt Merrill. Apparently, though, Ree won’t admit that he’s her boyfriend. Before you start accusing her of helicopter parenting, the reason behind it is, admittedly, kind of sweet. She said in a Country Living article that she doesn’t like to use the word “boyfriend” to describe the boys who hang around with her daughters, not because she’s “in denial or afraid to face the fact,” but because she thinks it’s annoying to refer to people as her “daughter’s boyfriend.”

4. Anyway, about the arrest.

It was just an open bottle of beer. On April 12th, after being found “in a drunken condition,” she was taken into custody in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was accused of public intoxication and possession of alcohol by a person under 21 years of age. It didn’t seem to be such a big deal, though—she just paid $400 in court fees for the alleged crimes and on May 2nd, a district attorney approved a request to dismiss both counts from Paige’s record.
