It's been five months since Tammy Lawrence-Daley checked into her vacation from hell at the Majestic Elegance Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Lawrence-Daley says she was beaten, brutally assaulted, and strangled to the point of unconsciousness in January by someone she claims was wearing a hotel staff uniform.

According to the New York Post, Lawrence-Daley demanded a $2.2 million compensation agreement prior to going public about the violent incident. The Delaware mother of two says she spent five days in a Dominican Republic hospital and has undergone multiple surgeries for her injuries since the alleged attack. She also says she underwent months of physical and emotional therapy. Was Lawrence-Daley stretching the truth about what really happened? Here's why the Majestic Elegance Resort thinks she's lying. 1. She shared the story of the alleged incident months later

In a Twitter statement, The Majestic Elegance Resort said Lawrence-Daley only shared what happened during the incident with the public four months later, "after receiving no positive response." The resort suspects she came forward months later because she was unable to seek financial damages.

2. The Majestic Elegance disputed Lawrence-Daley’s claims that the resort did not appropriately handle her case

The Majestic Elegance denied claims made by Lawrence-Daley that the hotel did not properly respond to reports that a woman had vanished after leaving her hotel room to get a snack. The hotel says that they took action as soon as Lawrence-Daley's disappearance was reported. Majestic Elegance claims that night they implemented the security protocol provided for cases when information is received of a guest being in trouble. When she was found, the hotel said they contacted authorities immediately. The hotel also claims that a hotel staff member went to the hospital with Lawrence-Daley and stayed there to ensure her needs were met. They say all of her hospital bills were paid for.

3. The resort's sequence of events differs from Lawrence-Daley's

According to Lawrence-Daley's testimony, the attack happened at 11 p.m. when she left her hotel room for a late night snack, but her disappearance wasn't reported until 2:30 a.m. by her husband. Within minutes, a property wide search began for Lawrence-Daley. She was found later that morning at 6:40am in an underground crawl space of the hotel. The hotel says when they found her, she had bruises on her face and a broken fingernail, but no other obvious injuries. They claim Lawrence-Daley didn't show any other signs of violence on her body. The hotel even says she still had personal belongings with her, such as her purse and cell phone.

4. Majestic Elegance says Lawrence-Daley refused to present any legal accusations at the time of the incident

The hotel's statement says Lawrence-Daley refused to press charges at the time of the attack. She didn't make any legal accusations despite authorities advising her she should. Police say as of now, there are holes in the case and that a lot of information doesn't match up with some of the statements given.
