The Best Way For You To Study, By Zodiac Sign

Every student learns differently. Some study well in groups, some alone, some in complete quiet, some in places where there is a lot of white noise.

Everyone finds the one place that works the best for them and then sticks to it. It's important for you to find how you study the best so you don't have to have that extreme learning curve when you get to the next stage of your education. 

There is a new study from Tufts University in Massachusetts about study habits. They have found that if you give yourself tests to practice the material it reduces stress and helps with memory recall.

You will remember it much more quickly if you practice recalling the information. The study has found that when your body is stressed, our bodies release epinephrine (adrenalin).

This increases our heart rate and causes us to sweat. After around 20 minutes of the release of epinephrine, your body will then release cortisol.

This is bad because it binds to the receptors in the hippocampus in your brain, causing you to not be able to recall what you need to for an exam.

So, they recommend that you review your notes first, then take a practice test, then maybe read your notes a few more times, and then force yourself to recall as much as possible, then go back and check your notes.

Repeat a few more times until you are comfortable with the material.

The next thing scientists suggest is to get a good nights sleep before the test. Y

ou will do much better than cramming the night before. 

So, everyone deals with stress and the pressure of studying differently. You have to find what works best for you then you will be a force to be reckoned with. You will never fail at succeeding in your education if you stick with what you know and how you learn.

There are multitudes of things that could get in your way or distract you in today's world.

There are cell phones, social media, Netflix, and more out there just to give you an excuse to not do your work.

These are some of the biggest distractions out there. It is hard to put it down and focus. But it's OK to take some breaks. 

Here are what your study habits may be, according to your zodiac sign. 

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)

As an Aries, you are very quick to learn things but that can be your downfall. You go so fast, you only see the surface and not the little details within. So, you miss a good bit of stuff because you are absorbing so much material so quickly.

It’s like looking at something, let's say a flower. You would likely say it’s just a pink flower instead of looking up close and realizing the center is white with a little yellow, it grows in a bush and the petals are soft and silky. See the difference?

This drive to do things makes it harder for you to maintain a high GPA because you might have gotten some low scores on tests because you didn’t know the details. You are competitive in class and are always the first to do something.

You are likely the one who cannot sit still for very long. Remember, it’s important to slow down and take a step back because your GPA and overall knowledge will follow you through your academic career and into your job.

You don’t want to know something but not the details if your boss asks, right? So, keep in mind that you need to slow down and look closer at the material. The devil lies in the details.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)

For a Taurus, you are very tactile, which impacts your studying. You learn quicker when you can engage all of your senses when you are studying because it will guide you through learning the material.

You probably would work well for blind taste tests, hearing noises and identifying them and more. You learn through your ability to connect more with your senses, so if you are learning something where you cannot use your skills, it becomes hard and almost impossible for you to learn.

Also, because you may have to take some extra time adapting material to fit your particular learning style. It can also be difficult to concentrate on your studies if you are around people who are causing distractions.

So, for you, the best place to learn would be in a quiet place, a study room or your bedroom or something of that sort, so you don’t have any distractions.

This is where you would do the best when you are studying for a big test or are trying to get your papers/assignments written. Remember, don’t get frustrated with yourself for learning slowly, everyone learns differently.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

As a Gemini, you are the ones who take forever to study because you get distracted very quickly. You have a short attention span so it becomes hard to focus. You also can be restless and like to multitask while you are studying, but I wouldn’t suggest that because it distracts you from what you are there to do, study.

You do learn quickly and have the intellect to retain details. You are quick on your feet and you are curious, so it makes it easier for you to want to research and learn things.

Also, as a Gemini, you will benefit from studying alone but you need to do that in a place where there is other people because it’s the white noise that keeps you focused.

You would do horribly in a quiet study hall or locked in a study room or bedroom.

You can incorporate whatever you are good at, whether it be debating, negotiating, talking, etc., into your studying because it will help you overall learn and reinforce what you re looking at because you have something to use that you can assimilate your studies to.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Cancer, you are the person who gets stuck in the old ways of doing it. You study best when you are as emotionally balanced or you will find it hard to focus.

You are the person who probably can retain what you study for a long period of time.  

As a Cancer, you are most likely a person who likes to study alone and you can easily cram for a test. You also prefer to study at home in your bedroom or in your dorm.

This is because you will feel much more secure and safe. If you are tired of working inside at the same places, switch it up and go somewhere so that you can study in a different place.

LEO (July 23 - August 22)

As a Leo, you are the one who sits at the front row and always have a question for the teacher or an answer.

You like to make your presence known and you love the attention and praise if you get something correct.

You are super excited about learning and you seriously focus while you are sitting in class and the teacher is lecturing.

Your one downfall is that you learn the broad aspects of your lessons instead of catching the details. Just pointing that out.

It may not be you, but if it is, you can certainly change that. As for studying, you would most likely be a study group leader because you do great as the person in charge and you like to talk things through and listen to your peers give their opinions.

But you have the tendency to get bossy, so keep that in mind if you want to continue studying in groups.

You also benefit from breaks while you study, like walking around, stretching, talking about something other than schoolwork, or all of the above plus more.

But remember to keep these breaks to a minimum so that you don’t fall behind in your studies.

VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

You are a very independent student while you are studying. As a Virgo, you are also very quiet and you like clean and organized places, such as the library.

You hate, and I mean hate, cluttered desks or rooms.  You also are easily distracted by details in trivia questions and by the details of what surrounds you.

As a Virgo, you also take notes upon notes in class for you to review. You need a structured routine set up to structure your study plan.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)

You like to take a wide range of classes because you want to know as much as you can about the world. You are probably drawn to the humanities department, specifically psychology and art.

When a Libra starts to study, you may have no clue as to where you are going to start. So a study group may benefit you because someone will be there to guide your studies.

You tend to procrastinate and get sidetracked, so you need to put in place ways to keep you focused and on task if you are trying to study by yourself.

But you will do best in a group where you can set up a regular schedule for when you will meet.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)

You learn and retain material very quickly. You learn the best and fastest in subjects that you like the best, whereas in classes you don’t like, you try to do anything and everything that keeps you from having to look at or pay attention to the lesson that is being taught.

You are the one who likes to wait until the last minute to do your assignments or to study. So you are prone to all-nighters, which isn’t good for your sleep cycle. Just saying. You do have tricks that you use to study to help you retain the information.

And even though you study the material most during all-nighters right before the test, you have an uncanny ability to maintain the information.

A Scorpio is able to focus on studying and go for hours at a time. You like to study by yourself where it is quiet and you are comfortable, which would be like your house or bedroom.

You don’t like change at all, so you would freak if someone started to invade your study space.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)

You are a procrastinator, Sagittarius. You are rebellious and because you like to do other things besides sitting and studying, something much more fun, you complain and would rather be sitting on a beach somewhere sipping a frozen drink than study. You easily become bored in class and you like to learn new things.

Also, as a Sagittarius, you cannot force yourself to study if you aren’t in the mood. Don’t even try because you won’t get anything done.

I know from experience. As for studying, you like to study alone, where it is quiet. You need to constantly take breaks in between shorter study sessions to keep you focused.

If you don't, you will soon find how distracted you can be and how much time you can blow on social media.

Again, I’m speaking from experience. Remember, you do want to continue learning and finding out newer and better things to learn, while also you have the potential to grow and excel at whatever you do.

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)

Capricorn, you love talking with your peers in class. You like to talk about other things inside the classroom besides just the material.

You do have the drive to achieve great things and you have the intellect to do so. As a Capricorn, you are methodical, like your Aquarius friends, but you are a little bit different. You are curious and you can follow instructions to a T, but you cannot study all at once because you will confuse yourself quite quickly.

Oh, and you would not, and I repeat, would benefit from an all-nighter or a cram session. So don’t even try it, cause it may sound like a good idea, but it’s not.

You study the best when you have a scheduled, organized plan.

As a Capricorn, you like to mix socializing with your friends and studying with your peers. 

It may be hard for you to concentrate in a study group, so you may want to think about studying by yourself.

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)

As an Aquarius, you have very erratic study habits. You learn the best by using unconventional study habits.

Others around you may see you as unconventional or wacky because you are most likely disorganized, but you learn best in chaos.

You have a wild imagination that helps you creatively study and make ways to remember a large number of things.

You are methodical in how you approach your studies and have clever tricks to make the material stick.

You learn this way easier because you can express your creativity. Also, your study times are all over the place because it’s hard for you to keep to a schedule.

You will find times where you are ready to study and you get a whole lot done, but then there are those times where you cannot even focus on a page.

Study in a place where you feel most comfortable and where you can let your crazy study routines run wild.

You will find that these crazy ways to remember things will make the material stay with you forever.

Remember, your intuition will get you far in life so exploit it, use it to your advantage.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)

You are very creative so you don’t necessarily love sitting in class. You have to force yourself to pay attention and to study.

A Pisces learns the best when they have a strict schedule in a structured class. You need the structure to keep you on task.

You also do well when you are given independent studies because you are able to focus on it without any distractions from others.

Sometimes you may find it hard to be assertive in class. You hesitate before asking questions because you don’t want to risk being laughed at. 

It is important to step outside of your comfort zone and take on the goals that will take you places.

So, stay true to yourself through school so that you can do anything you desire once you graduate because you are most likely going into a service area where you will take care or help others.
