Unsplash Keeping a man interested in you isn't always an easy feat. Sometimes, you actually have to work to keep him wanting more. Shocking, I know. But what we lack in hard work, we can always make up for in other talents that can keep him coming back for more.
Some zodiac signs know that keeping things physical is a good way to keep him interested, while other zodiac signs prefer other kinds of stimulation – like a good conversation or quality time. My point is, men all have their own preferences when it comes to what they're looking for in a relationship, which you can usually figure out by knowing what his love language is.
On the other hand, men also have things that automatically turn them off. While it can be easy to catch his eye at first, keeping him from getting disinterested can be just as easy. When I first started dating my boyfriend, I used to think that if he wanted to keep me around that he would have to do all the work.
That meant that I never started a conversation first – he always had to text me first – and I always played hard to get. Granted, as an Aquarius I'm always kind of aloof, but I definitely should have worked harder to keep him interested.
He only told me years later that he was close to calling it quits once because I was acting like I wasn't interested in him. Clearly, my aloofness didn't do me any favors. The moral of my story is to show someone that I'm interested in them – not just in a romantic way but in general, too – rather than make them do all the work.
Sometimes being aloof works, just like sometimes being available all the time works. But since every guy has his own preferences, it's better to know what he likes and what he doesn't than try to play a guessing game.
And as cheesy as it can sound, being yourself really does help keep him interested. Hey, he either likes you for who you are, or he doesn't. And if he doesn't, someone else does. I definitely don't recommend changing who you are just for a guy, but if you want someone specific, it does help knowing what pushes his buttons.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
The thing that disinterests Aries the most is when people constantly agree with him. There’s a difference between having the same values or interests and going along with whatever he says because you want him to like you, and he can tell which person you are.
When you’re always following him around like a puppy dog and agreeing with everything he says, there’s no challenge for him. He doesn’t have to work hard to get to know you or get you to like him because you’re pretty much sucking up to him. Give it a rest!
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus appreciates people who can be honest with him up front. If you’re stringing him along just to tell him you’re not really interested in him after a few weeks, he’s going to feel like he totally wasted his time. No matter what kind of relationship you have with Taurus, be honest!
Taurus gets disinterested when people play mind games with him, too. Some zodiac signs like the cat-and-mouse games that come with a flirty new relationship, but not Taurus. If you’re just going to tease him, he’s going to tell you that this isn’t going to work out before you can figure out what happened.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
The fastest way for Gemini to lose interest in you is to be boring. I know that “boring” can differ from zodiac sign to zodiac sign, but Gemini really just wants someone who keeps him on his toes. Gemini is only interested in someone for as long as they can keep his attention.
If he starts losing interest in you, don’t beat yourself up too much. Gemini gets restless very easily, which means that he’s always bouncing from one person to the next. But as a little hint, too much routine is the fastest way to get him running for the hills.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
No matter what kind of connection you have with Cancer, the most important thing to him is knowing that you’re putting in as much effort as he is into the relationship. The thing that disinterests him the most is making him feel unwanted or like he’s the only one who cares.
Cancer might be a little needy at times, but it’s only because he wants to know that his relationships are worthwhile. He’ll lose interest fast if he feels like you’re emotionally neglecting him. How can you tell this is how he’s feeling? He’ll start pulling away from you emotionally and mentally.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)

Virgo doesn’t have any time to waste waiting for you to make up your mind or tell him what you want in life. No matter how much he cares about someone, he just can’t tolerate trying to read your mind. It’s just not happening!

The one thing that disinterests Libra the most is when people take their anger out on him or ignore him. Any big, toxic emotions that are supposed to make him feel like it’s his fault crushes his spirit and makes him feel unworthy of love. Libra deserves better than that.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Having a strong physical connection isn’t as important to some zodiac signs, but it’s very important to Scorpio. As an intense person, he wants to know that he can get all up in your personal space and you’re not going to freak out or push him away.
Holding hands, physical intimacy, and sharing personal space are all ways Scorpio shows his love for you. He loses interest when you’re the complete opposite because it makes him feel like you’re hiding something from him. Hey – only one person gets to be secretive and mysterious in this relationship.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Since monogamous, serious relationships aren’t usually Sagittarius’ jam, you have to give him enough space to grow into this new role. That means no rushing him or making him meet your parents before he’s had a chance to warm up to your cats first.
The thing that makes Sagittarius lose interest the fastest is when his partners try to force him to get serious too fast. No rushing or pushing this zodiac sign unless you want to completely push him right out of the relationship.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
The thing that disinterests Capricorn the most is manipulation. He has absolutely no time for games in his relationship – you either want to be with him or you don’t. If you can’t handle him at his busy-bee-ness, you certainly can’t handle him when he’s ready to take things to the next level.
Don’t try to manipulate him into being someone that suits you better. He’s not a pet project, and he’ll tell you as much. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
