This week, YouTuber Chris Monroe has posted a video that is either really gross or a big prank. No one is sure yet, but whatever is going on, it’s all getting a lot of attention.

Chris Monroe, who posts to the YouTube channel PrankInvasion, is internet famous for is man-on-the-street pranks that end with him kissing people, usually beautiful women. But this week he may have pushed the kissing line too far when he posted a video where he kissed a woman that he claims is his half-sister.

1. YouTuber

Chris Monroe is a YouTuber whose main claim to fame is getting women he’s allegedly never met before to kiss him by challenging them to play a game with them. If the woman loses the game, they then have to kiss him. However, he never just goes in for a quick peck, it’s always full on making out for the cameras.

2. Trick

In many, if not all, of the videos, Monroe is cheating. He asks women to think of a number, then he apparently writes down his guess before showing it to them. He then passes the woman the pencil to prevent himself of from writing anything more. She’ll go on to say what number she chooses, then he flips the card and reveals the correct guess.

However, he is usually wearing a false tip on his thumb. The “magic thumb” has graphite build in so he can write with that while the woman says her number so it appears that he has guessed correctly.

Monroe has many fans.

3. Popular

While some people might feel that what Monroes does borders on sexual misconduct, others find his videos incredibly entertaining. He has over 3.7 million subscribers to his main channel, 500,000 subscribers to his secondary channel and an additional 450,000 subscribers to his self-titled channel. He even offers giveaways of the magic thumb tools so that his viewers can engage in the same type of pranks that he does.

A word of caution, however: before anyone attempts to con strangers into kissing them, they should check the sexual harassment and assault laws for their state. This sort of behavior can have serious consequences.

4. Pushback

Not everyone likes the videos Monroe posts. There was even a Change.org petition asking to have him banned from YouTube for violating the terms of service.

The petition says “His channel mainly violates many sexual content rules because his videos contain: graphic sexual acts, groping, nudity, suggestive without nudity, sexual content potentially involving minors, etc.”

The petition gained over 2,000 signatures but, since it was started three years ago, there has been no success having the channel shut down. There is an age-restriction notice on his videos now, however.

5. Kissing his sister

It comes as no surprise that Monroe would need to step up his game to keep drawing in viewers. He did this by standing a video, allegedly with his half-sister. After a few minutes of talking about what he plans to do, he and the young woman sit down to play a game of rock-paper-scissors, with the intent that she will kiss him if she loses. Unsurprisingly, that is exactly what happens and the pair engage in an open-mouthed highly sexual appearing kiss.

Viewers responded on twitter with comments like "if that was his sister then chris monroe would be a creep! but if it's one of those craigslist models then he's still a creep for saying that's his sister while kissing her! yikes!” and “i think this is a hoax...on her instagram her name is kaitlyn o’connor and his name (youtuber prankinvasion) is chris monroe...they don’t even follow each other on instagram or have any pictures with each other on social media besides the ones in the video.”

One astute tweeter noted that, if the video is real, the ethics of it are questionable for a number of reasons besides the obvious incest issue, saying “Chris Monroe is the definition of harassment. Forcing your sister to kiss you against her wishes is not only wrong but profiting from it and making it popular on YouTube is portraying actions like these as normal.  Why is YouTube still allowing his content?”

6. Real video?

Monroe hasn’t popped into the comments to let viewers know whether the woman is really his sister or not, nor has he ever responded to other claims that the women in his videos are actors paid to participants in his pranks. However, weeks ago he posted this photo of the girl from the video and identified her as his sister saying "Had such an amazing time with one of my little sister’s @coutureforever on St. Patrick’s Day! You’re my half-sister but it honestly doesn’t feel like it—so thankful we’ve stayed so close all our lives. Go follow her and show her love! If this photo gets 30,000 likes...me and my sis will kiss on YouTube!"

He was either laying the groundwork for the prank in advance, or they're really family.
