In 2017, he released his memoir, It's Not Me, It's Them: Confessions of a Hopeless Modern Romantic. According to him, the book is about his experiences with dating, relationships, and sex:

“I wrote a diary when I was 17 years old, the age when all you want in life is to see more boobies and have a small fridge in your bedroom. On the 19/4/03, the day after I lost my virginity, I wrote this bold statement.

I’m scared to have sex with someone else but I want to get better at this. I think I just need to do it more. Maybe 40 people? More than 40 people is slutty. I definitely want to fall in love before I reach 40.

Join me as I plot you through my past and current dating, relationship and sexual fails on my way to potentially disappoint my 17-year-old expectations to find The One.”

Eventually, Dommett did find The One with model Hannah Cooper. The two met through Instagram after she private messaged him, and hit it off on their first date!

“She sent me an emoji with a cat with the heart eyes, and that was it. I’ve been burned online with relationships before, but we met up and got on really well and went on a super first date. Now on every anniversary we replicate our first date,” he said.

And how he proposed was even sweeter. He gave her a copy of his memoir, and ripped the last page out, and popped the question when she reached the end:

“I gave her the first version of the book, and got her to read the whole book but ripped out the final page. She asked '’why did you rip it out'’ and I got down on one knee. I lit 200 candles and wore a tuxedo, and learned how hot a small London flat can get with that many candles. But she was like, ‘I'm in a Rod Stewart t-shirt’ and then she said yes.”

5. A catfish almost ended his career!

Though he can laugh about it now, he was a victim of catfishing and had a sex tape of his leaked. The catfish then blackmailed him, and the video leaked in 2016 right before he went on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. In speaking about it, the comedian hopes to spread the word about cybercrime.

“I'm trying to figure out the right charity to associate myself with, but all I’m doing at the moment is talking about it as much as possible and hopefully warning people if it looks like it’s happening to them. It's mad, it's an epidemic. It’s a real new type of crime that nobody really knows about. Hopefully, even though I’m laughing about what is a horrific thing, I can warn people if it’s coming their way.”
