Scathing new information from former Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise contestant and Calafiore's ex-girlfriend Danielle Maltby posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram in December 2018 with a long, honest caption about her life since her breakup with the Big Brother alum.
“Most days I feel myself hardening since my relationship ended. I honestly believed I had found my person … Now the thought of dating leaves me terrified to let anyone in. It’s not like I have anything to give out anyway.”
Her post ends on a more hopeful note for anyone that has been through a horrible breakup: “Some days are okay, some are really good and I had a great night last night, but today, my place is a mess and I can’t get out of bed and honestly, I just hurt. I’m working on it though.”
Maltby’s post revealed that despite his new relationship with Sorbello, Calafiore appears to still be trying to contact Maltby.

1. Calafiore admitted to cheating on Maltby with Sorbello in June 2018.
The rumors of a relationship between the two Challenge houseguests began with a video Sorbello posted on her social media after filming Final Reckoning. “Nobody has to know,” she said in the video while holding hands with a man.
Co-star Tony Raines tweeted at Sorbello asking about why he was getting an influx of mentions with her and someone named Paul.
A day later, Calafiore addressed the rumors through E! News: “I am not proud of my actions these past weeks. I know they speak louder than these words.”
Maltby echoes this last phrase in her Instagram post: “Actions speak louder than words.”
2. It isn't the first time Calafiore cheated.
Calafiore has opened up about his issues with infidelity in the past. In a Twitter rant in June of 2018, Calafiore addressed his actions.
Sorbello did not seem to mind Calafiore's cheating past. A month after Calafiore's Twitter confession, Sorbello said during an interview with E! News that she was with Calafiore, but that they were not really labeling their relationship. “I have no reason not to trust him," she said. "The mistrust would be if he wanted to continue to hook up with me and be with Danielle at the same time, that’d be like what are you doing dude?”
It seems that last statement may have come true.
3. Maltby said Calafiore has been trying to contact her for months.
In her Instagram post, Maltby revealed that Calafiore has been trying to contact her for months, and reached out to her “this week, begging me to unblock him because ‘we are important in each other’s lives.’”
In an exclusive interview with People in December 2018, Maltby said she and Calafiore went to Mexico in July — after he and Sorbello were allegedly together. “He told me he’s never letting go of me or of us. That [Sorbello] knew exactly what the relationship was and wasn’t. [Sorbello] knew it was only for the show.”
She also revealed he visited her in Nashville for Labor Day 2018 and addressed Sorbello in her statement: “We talked and fought … I would repeatedly ask him if he was being honest with you because I could see that you loved him … he said you were selfish and it’s just for the show .. you overstayed your welcome and nothing was happening with you. That a relationship would never work with you.”
Maltby is “still trying to fortify [her] wall,” as she put it in her Instagram post: “I know he’s not a bad person. Somewhere in his mind though, he has made himself believe that it’s okay to continue to tell me he needs me, misses me, still loves me and wants to fix everything.”
Calafiore, on the other hand, told E! News that Maltby “misinterpreted” his actions over the past few months. “I didn’t beg to be unblocked,” he said, “I asked why I was blocked when we could just talk like adults.”
4. Calafiore and Sorbello have unfollowed each other on social media.
Calafiore was in Disney with Sorbello when Maltby made the revealing post on Instagram. Both Calafiore and Sorbello posted photos from their vacation, showing the two cuddled up and kissing and still very much together.
However, not long after Maltby's post, The Challenge co-stars reportedly unfollowed one another on social media.
Neither Sorbello nor Calafiore have commented on their recent actions, though Sorbello tweeted a quote on December 23 about inner peace.
5. Sorbello's Challenge co-stars are supporting her.
The Challenge vets often continue drama from the show on Twitter, and this scandal between Sorbello and Calafiore is not immune.
"Team Cara Maria," long-time Challenge vet Johnny Bananas wrote on Twitter.
Sorbello's Final Reckoning teammate also chimed in on social media, even going so far as to tag Calafiore directly in her tweet.
