5 Icy Zodiac Signs Who Shut People Out

getty Have you ever had a friend who became angry with you and rather than telling you what was going on with them, just shut you out, and ended the friendship? It’s very distressing, confusing, and painful. You don’t know what you did, how to fix it, and it can make you feel like you weren't worthy enough to be in that person’s life.
It takes a certain kind of personality to be cold enough to shut people out of one’s life. Not every zodiac sign does it, but there are some icy zodiac signs in astrology who are cold enough to cut people out of their life without ever giving the person a chance to defend themselves.
This kind of behavior is different than ghosting. With ghosting, there’s more of an indifference to their actions. When someone deliberately shuts you out, it’s usually coming from a place of rage and, on some level, hurt.
They’re saying that your friendship isn’t worth fighting for and that not only do they want nothing to do with you no, but they also will never find a place for you in their lives. There’s no forgiveness when you’ve been removed emotionally from someone’s life and given the permanent status of absent.
It’s as if they forever hold a grudge against you. It’s frustrating because they won’t talk to you, and when mutual friends ask what you did, the person rarely has an answer.
1. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios aren't known for being open and revealing anyway — they tend to keep their emotions and their secrets to themselves. Scorpios are very sensitive and if someone hurts them emotionally, Scorpio will shut them out permanently.
If you're ever in a situation with a Scorpio and they've shut you out, let it be. Don't try to change their mind or their negative feelings could intensify. It's much better to deal with a cold Scorpio than a red-hot out for revenge one. At least when they're icing you out, you don't have to fear for your life.
2. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarians are the ice royalty of the zodiac signs. When they're uncomfortable or annoyed, their go-to response is to detach themselves from the situation. They don't want to be a participant in anyone's pity-party and they're not there to listen to you vent.
Their aloofness isn't because they don't care, it's because they care deeply but just don't have the skills needed to handle an emotional situation. When an Aquarian is cold to you, don't take it personally, it's just the way they cope.
3. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
There are times when a Capricorn will intentionally ruin a relationship because they believe that relationships never work out for them or that their partner will leave or cheat on them. Think of it as preventative heartbreak.
When Capricorn does this, the object of their shutting out won't understand, and when they try for answers from Capricorn, they will ice them out and focus on their work. There are times when this zodiac sign is thought of as unfeeling, but that's not the case — they feel too much.
4. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers are very emotional and sometimes the best way for them to react to a painful situation is to become aloof and cut out the source of their pain. It could be an ex, a friend, or a family member, but if they inspire hurt feelings in Cancer, then Cancer is going to shut them out for their own sake.
It may seem immature or unfair, but it's one of Cancer's ways of pain management. They'll miss the person they shut out of their lives, but ultimately, ending all contact is less painful for them.
5. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos are very cerebral and sometimes it feels less messy to just shut someone out. There are times when it seems as if Virgo has ice in their veins, but that's not the case at all.
They're very sensitive but human emotions are tricky for Virgo to handle, and sometimes they just don't feel like they have it in them to deal with other people's feelings. It feels more comfortable for Virgo to detach and lose themselves in whatever project they're working on than to open up emotionally.
